Group Resources in Resource View
By default, resources display in the Resource View without any grouping, but you can choose to group them by labor category, organization, or job title.
To group resources in the Resource View grid, complete the following steps:
- In the Resource Management workspace, click to go to the Resource View.
- Click in the upper-right corner of the grid.
-
In the Column Settings & Selections dialog box, click
in
GROUP BY and select one of the following grouping options:
- Labor Category: Group by labor category. For a given labor category, employees are listed first, followed by generic resources. Employees and generic resources that have no labor category are grouped under No Labor Category.
-
Organization name or ID: If you have a variable organization structure, you can group by either organization name or organization ID.
If you have a fixed organization structure, you can group by organization name.
For a given organization, employees are listed first, followed by generic resources. Generic resources that have no organization are grouped under No Organization.
-
Organization level: If you have a variable organization structure, you can group by either level ID or level ID name for level 1 of the organization structure.
If you have a fixed organization structure, you can group by level ID name for any level of the organization structure.
For a given organization level ID, employees are listed first, followed by generic resources. Generic resources that have no organization are grouped under No Organization.
- Title: Group employees by job title. Employees who have no job title are grouped under No Title, along with all generic resources.
- No Grouping: If the resources are currently grouped in the grid and you want to remove grouping entirely, select this option.
-
Click

Result: The grid is split vertically into two sections. The groups display in the upper section. When you select a group, the resources in that group display in the lower section.
