Inactivating a department
An inactive department cannot be used, but it
remains in the database and continues to appear on reports.
When you inactivate a department, you select
a replacement for it.
If only one active
department remains, you cannot inactivate it; however, you can clear the
Use departments check box in Company > Preferences.
- From the Company
menu, click Financials >
Departments.
- If the status of the items in the list is not visible, click
(Customize), select the Status check
box, and click OK. In the Status column, select All.
- Click the department that
you want to make inactive, and click the Edit
button.
- In the Status field, select Inactive.
- Click Save.
The Department Inactive window appears.
- In the Select Replacement
field, enter the department to use in place of the department you are
making inactive. Ajera then uses this replacement on all chart of accounts
allocations, banks, activities, employees, vendors, projects/phases, recurring
vendor invoices, and recurring journal entries where the inactive department
was used.
- Click OK.
