BD Progress report

Use this report to manage your tasks on open Business Development (BD) efforts in a variety of ways. An open BD effort is a BD phase that has a final disposition of Open. You can look forward at future tasks that need to be accomplished and look back on performance and tasks that have already been completed.

You can select options to produce the report in the ways that best helps you to analyze:

Projects your firm is pursuing
Tasks that need to be performed
Efforts by segments, such as department or market segment (project type)

You can even use the report as a report card of completed tasks.

Note:

This report includes contract amounts from the production phases that are linked to BD phases. For the report to contain meaningful data, ensure that you entered contract amounts for the lowest-level production phases.
For a project's BD efforts to appear on the report, the project must have at least one stage that is in progress.

Producing the report

From the Reports menu, click Project > Business Development > BD Progress.

Report options

Option	Description
Company	Multi-company only The report contains information for all companies in your organization, unless you select a specific company in this field.
Project	The report contains information for all projects unless you select a specific project in this field.
Task date range	The report contains information for the current week unless you select a different date in this field.

Customize options

Option	Description
Report title	You can change the title of the report.
Sort order	Sorts the report by stage, priority, % chance of winning, client, project, project manager, principal-in-charge, project type, or department. If you use multi-company, you can also sort by company.
Use drilldown	If selected, you can drill down to further detail on the report. If cleared, the report automatically displays the detail.
Print graph	If selected, a graph of the information appears on the report.
Tasks to print	Select the appropriate check boxes to include on the report tasks which have a status of Not Started, In Progress, Complete, Waiting, and Deferred.
Print customize options on report	If selected, it prints a list of the report options that you select.

Report contents

Column	Description
Stage	The marketing stage of the BD phase
Project/phase	The BD project or phase
Client	The client you are working for on the project or phase
Next Task Date	The date that the next task is due
Due Date	The date the task currently in progress is due
Contract	The contract amount of the production phase linked to the BD phase that has a final disposition of Open
% Chance of Winning	The percent chance your firm has of winning the project or phase
Factored	The contract amount of the linked production phases multiplied by the percent chance of winning the work for the BD phase
