For firms or other organizations with very large amounts of data, cache warming may improve performance for those using the wInsight Analytics module if response times do not seem satisfactory. The cache warming process pre-calculates the most common result sets and saves them in memory to provide enhanced response time when users request the same data.
Only wInsight Analytics customers with very large data sets may realize a performance gain from cache warming. In addition, you can only use cache warming for server installations of the wInsight Analytics module.
Prerequisites: Before you can run the cache warming process the first time, you must complete the implementation procedure. See "Optional: Implement the Cache Warmer" in the
Deltek wInsight Analytics Installation Guide for the wInsight Analytics Module.
Timing: Run the cache warming process after each data load process.
To run the cache warmer, complete the following steps:
-
Log on to the wInsight Analytics module server using the cache warmer service account you specified during the module installation. (The default cache warmer account is DeltekAnalyticsCW but you may have set up a different account.)
-
Open AccessPoint.
-
Click
Favorites & Profile.
-
In
Preferred client on the Profile tab, select
Internet Explorer Plugin.
-
From AccessPoint, run wInsight_Analytics.qvw.
-
Click the
Warm Cache button in the lower-left corner of the Master Dashboard tab.
This process takes some time to complete.
