Field Description
Name This field displays the project's short name, from the Vision Project Info Center.
Number This field displays the project's identification number.
Project Manager This field displays the name of the project manager for the project (WBS1) level.
Contract Start - End This field displays the start and end dates for the project. The dates are based on the Initial Dates: Start and Completion Dates: Estimated fields in the Project Info Center. These dates may differ from the dates on the Planning tab because planned dates may be outside the contract date range.
  • If the Initial Dates: Start field in the Project Info Center is blank, the field displays the end date.
  • If the Completion Dates: Estimated field in the Project Info Center is blank, the field displays the start date.
  • If both dates are blank in the Project Info Center, no dates display.
Contract This field displays the project compensation amount, based on the amount in the Compensation field in the Project Info Center.

Calculation: Contract = Compensation from Project Info Center

If your firm uses Vision Multicurrency, the currency amounts display in the project's billing currency or project currency. The currency is based on the Use Billing Currency not Project Currency option in Vision Accounting System Settings.

Target Multiplier

This multiplier is used as the basis for evaluation against the EAC multiplier. The multiplier represents how much revenue is anticipated for each labor cost dollar spent on a project. If you are viewing a Vision plan, this field displays the Target Multiplier for Cost from the General tab of Vision Project Planning. If you are viewing a Navigator plan, this field displays the Target Multiplier that is assigned in Project Settings.

If the Vision plan's Budget Type is set to Billing, the multiplier is blank. If the Vision plan's Budget Type is set to Cost or Cost and Billing, you can assign a target multiplier for cost in Vision Project Planning.

Calculation: Target Multiplier = Cost Target Multiplier

If a project is mapped to multiple Vision plans that have the Include in utilization and project reports option selected, Navigator shows the target multiplier from the plan with the earliest creation date.

EAC Multiplier

The estimate-at-completion (EAC) labor cost amount is the cost value of the hours worked through today and the remaining planned hours. The EAC multiplier is the contract amount for the project divided by the Labor EAC Cost.

All Navigator plans are marked to Include in utilization and project reports. Vision plans may or may not be marked to Include in utilization and project reports.

The job-to-date values in EAC are from posted and unposted labor. If a plan's budget type is set to Billing, the plan does not track cost values and nothing can be calculated for the EAC cost multiplier.

Calculation: EAC Multiplier = Contract Amount/EAC Labor Cost Amount

The following example shows a calculation in which a project is mapped to multiple Vision plans:
  • Project X is mapped on three plans.
  • Each plan has Include in utilization and project reports selected.
  • The project has $500 of JTD labor at cost through 5/31/2014.
  • The project has $1000 of ETC labor cost amount as of 6/1/2014 on each plan.
  • The project has $5000 for the Contract Amount.

The EAC Multiplier calculation for Project X is as follows:

5000 / (1000+1000+1000+500)=1.43

Navigator displays $5000 in the Contract field and $3500 in the Estimate at Completion field for Project X as of 5/31/2014 (today's date in the example).

Job to Date This field displays the job-to-date labor amount through today's date. It is based on actual JTD labor charges at billing and includes unposted charges.

Calculation: JTD = posted and unposted labor charges at billing through today

If your firm uses Vision Multicurrency, the currency amounts display in the project's billing currency or project currency. The currency is based on the Use Billing Currency not Project Currency option in Vision Accounting System Settings.

Estimate to Complete This field displays the estimate-to-complete (ETC) labor amount for the project. This is the billing value of planned labor required from tomorrow through the end of the plan to complete the project.

If the Vision plan's Budget Type is set to Cost, this amount displays as zero. If a project is mapped on multiple Vision plans that have the Include in utilization and project reports option selected, Navigator totals are the combined value of the plans.

Calculation: ETC = Planned labor amount at billing from tomorrow forward

If your firm uses Vision Multicurrency, the currency amounts display in the project's billing currency or project currency. The currency is based on the Use Billing Currency not Project Currency option in Vision Accounting System Settings.

Estimate at Completion This field displays the sum of the job-to-date (JTD) labor billing amount and the estimate-to-complete (ETC) labor billing amount for the project.

If the Vision plan's Budget Type is set to Cost, this amount displays as zero. If a project is mapped on multiple Vision plans that have the Include in utilization and project reports option selected, Navigator totals are the combined value of the plans.

Calculation: EAC = JTD labor amount at billing through today + ETC labor amount at billing from tomorrow forward for plans in utilization

If your firm uses Vision Multicurrency, the currency amounts display in the project's billing currency or project currency. The currency is based on the Use Billing Currency not Project Currency option in Vision Accounting System Settings.
