Create a Top-Down Plan and Convert it to a Project Plan

If you enter a plan's information on the Top-Down Planning tab of Project Planning, you can convert the top-down plan to a project plan.

Prerequisites: You must select Allow to Update Plan Labor in the Top-Down Plan section of the Planning Tab of Roles Security for the role logged into Vision.

To convert a top down plan to a project plan, complete the following steps:

1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Planning > Project Planning.
2. On the Project Planning form, click the Top-Down Planning tab.
3. Enter information on the Top-Down Budget grid and the Generic Resources grid.
4. Click Save.
5. If you want to convert the top-down plan to a project plan, click the Update a Labor Plan button.

   The plan's information populates on the other tabs of the Project Planning form.

After you convert your top-down plan information to a project plan, you can replace the generic resources with named resources.
