Resource Search Dialog Box

Use the Resource Search dialog box of Project Planning to assign named or generic resources, check an employee's schedule, or to check an employee's utilization.

You access the Resource Search dialog box from the Labor tab of the Project Planning form.
Employee Schedule Tab of the Resource Search Dialog Box
Use the Employee Schedule tab to enter time scale information to check an employee's schedule.
Named Resource Tab of the Resource Search Dialog Box
Use the Named Resource tab to search for employees to assign to WBS elements in your plan. In doing so, you may also set minimum availability percentages for a set of dates, or search for under-utilized or over-utilized employees.
Utilization Tab of the Resource Search Dialog Box
Use the Utilization tab to search an employee's activities, project calendar, or both to check availability. You can look at the employee's utilization percentage by day, week, month, or quarter.
Generic Resource Tab of the Resource Search Dialog Box
The Generic Resource tab displays as a function of the Labor grid's Resource Search. Use the Generic Resource tab to search for an established generic category of employee to assign to the current WBS element.
