You can create a new project from an opportunity fee estimate. If your database is properly configured, you can also create an associated Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the project based on the service phases and functional groups defined on the fee estimate.

.
To create a new project from a fee estimate, complete the following steps:
-
From the Vision Navigation menu, click
.
-
On the toolbar, click
New and select
Create Project From.
-
On the Create Project from dialog box, set the
Copy From field to
Opportunity Fee Estimate.
-
In the
Opportunity field, click
Search to open the lookup and select the opportunity that you want to use to create the new project record.
This lookup only displays opportunities that have associated fee estimates. When you select the opportunity, its fee estimate is applied to the new project. If your database is configured to support multiple level Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), a WBS that is based on the fee estimate's structure is automatically created for the project.
-
Complete the remaining fields on the Create Project from... dialog box (for the new project record), making sure to enter a unique name in the
New Project field and the
Short Name field.
-
Click
OK.
Vision closes the Create Project from... dialog box and opens a new project record with the fee estimate's information. Refer to the mapping topics for details on how the fields populate.
-
On the tabs of the Project Info Center form, enter additional information about the new project.
-
Click
Save.
