Disable Phases or Tasks
Use the Disable Phases/Tasks utility to disable tasks on a phase, or to disable phases on a project.
If a project is used in a Units by Project transaction file, running the disable phases/tasks key conversion for the project also updates its unit by project transaction file.
Prerequisite: Back up your Vision database.
To disable phases and tasks, complete the following steps:
- From the Vision Application menu, click Utilities > Key Conversions > Disable Phases/Tasks.
-
On the Disable Phases/Tasks form, click
Insert or
Lookup/Insert to add rows to the grid:
- If a Project has tasks, you must run this utility for the tasks, then repeat these steps for the phases.
- If a Project has some phases with tasks and some without, you cannot mix them on the grid for the same processing run.
- Complete the fields on the form.
-
Select one of the following actions:
Option Description To save the conversion to run later Click Save. To run the conversion now Click Run. To schedule the conversion to run on a regular basis via the process server Click Schedule and complete the Schedule dialog box. If you use this option you cannot disable phases until this process has completed and tasks have been disabled.
If you run a key conversion to stop using the phase or task level for a project with a iAccess for Vision plan, the following occurs:
- Existing planned labor, expenses, and consultants resource rows at the lower level may be moved up in the WBS.
- Planned labor rows for the same resource are combined when moved up under the same WBS ID.
- Planned consultant rows are combined when they are moved up under the same WBS ID and have the same account and consultant name.
- Planned expense rows are combined when they are moved up under the same WBS ID and have the same account and vendor.
