Copy and Modify a Plan to Create a New Plan
You can create a new plan based on an existing plan.
To copy and update an existing plan to create a new plan, complete the following steps:
- From the Vision Navigation menu, click Planning > Project Planning.
-
On the Project Planning form, complete one of the following actions:
- Click New > Select Plan to Copy and use the Plan Lookup to select the plan that you want to copy.
-
Click Search to display the Plan Lookup dialog box and select the plan you want to copy. Then click New > Copy Current Plan.
- In the New Plan Name field, enter the name of the new plan.
- In the New Plan Number field, enter a number for the new plan.
-
From the
Copy Plan Option drop-down list, select one of the following options:
Option Description Copy Entire Plan Select this option to copy the entire plan, including custom tabs, fields, and grids, into the new plan. Copy Structure Only Select this option to copy the plan's basic structure, but exclude the following information: Planned Hours, Planned Cost, Planned Billing, Baseline Hours, Baseline Cost, and Baseline Billing values. Copy Top Down Plan Only Select this option to copy information from the Top Down Planning tab only; it does not copy the plan structure. If you map the copied plan to Info Center records, the new plan will contain any actual hours and amounts specified in the original plan. If this is the case, you may want to "unmap" the plan that you are creating. To do so, go to the Labor tab and delete the project number from the Project field before proceeding.
-
Click
OK on the Copy Plan dialog box.
Vision creates the new plan based on your settings.
- Complete the tabs of the Project Planning form.
