Labor Plan EVT Charts General Tab

Use the General tab to select report options for the Labor Plan EVT Charts report and to save sets of options for reuse.

In Reporting Period on this tab, you can specify that the reporting period is based on the plan's accordion calendar settings. You set up accordion calendars for plans in the Project Planning form. Accordion calendars can contain so many time intervals that the report is difficult to read. To reduce the number of columns on the report, do one or both of the following:

  • Use the Reporting Period options on this tab to specify an alternate start date or end date so that the reporting period is shorter and requires fewer columns.

  • Specify larger time intervals for the plan in the Top Scale and Bottom Scale fields on the Accordion Calendar Format dialog box. See Configure an Accordion Calendar Grid for the step-by-step procedure.

Field Description
Report Name You can change the default report name.
Earned Value Formula Select the formula that Vision uses to calculate the earned value amount.
  • EV% * Planned — Earned value percent * Planned amount

  • EV% * Compensation — Earned value percent * Compensation amount

  • EV% * Baseline — Earned value percent * Baseline amount

  • EV% * EAC — Earned value percent * EAC amount

Project Plan Lookup Use Project Plan Lookup to select the plan for which you want to generate the report.
Reporting Period To specify the reporting period, select one start date option and one end date option. The start and end dates are based on the accordion calendar dates and scales in the Project Planning form.
  • Use Plan's Accordion Start Date — Vision uses the earliest date in the accordion calendar as the start date.

  • Use Accordion Period that Includes This Start Date — Enter a date or click to select a date. If the date you enter does not match a period start date from the accordion calendar, Vision uses the start date from the period in which that date falls. When you select this option, the first period of the graph and data table includes accumulated values for the plan from periods prior to the start date. One exception is a start date in a period that has no earned value percentage associated with it and for which no future periods with earned value percentages exist. In this case, the report displays zero for the earned value amounts, rather than the last values found.

  • Use Plan's Accordion End Date — Vision uses the last date in the accordion calendar as the end date.

  • Include Overflow — If you select Use Plan's Accordion End Date, select Include Overflow if you want the report to include an overflow period to display the total of any planned amounts falling after the plan's accordion calendar end date.

  • Use Accordion Period that Includes This End Date (date field) — Enter a date or click to select a date. If the date you enter does not match a period end date from the accordion calendar, Vision uses the end date from the period in which that date falls.

For Plans Budgeted at Cost and Billing, use: You can budget a plan at both cost rates and billing rates. Select the type of rates Vision uses to calculate amounts on the report.
Definitions Select Print Acronym Definitions Once Per Report to have Vision include the following acronym definitions on the first page of the report:
  • ACWP — Actual Cost of Work Performed

  • BCWP — Budgeted Cost of Work Performed

  • BCWS — Budgeted Cost of Work Scheduled

For BCWS, Show Indicate if you want planned or baseline amounts used as the budgeted cost of work scheduled (BCWS):
  • Planned — Vision uses planned cost amounts or billing amounts as budgeted cost of work scheduled amounts on the graph and in the data table. If the plan has no planned values, the report displays zeros.

  • Baseline — Vision uses baseline cost amounts or billing amounts as budgeted cost of work scheduled amounts on the graph and in the data table. If the plan has no baseline values, the report displays zeros.

Include Data Table Select this check box to include a table of supporting data for the graph.
Graph Height Enter the height of the graph in inches or millimeters based on which one you selected in the Unit of Measure field on the Layout tab of the Options dialog box.
Decimal Setting Specify the number of decimal digits to display for amounts.

Your options are the following:

  • No Decimal — The report displays amounts without decimal digits (12).

  • Currency — The report displays amounts with the number of decimal digits specified for the currency in the Currency Configuration form.

Column Width Enter the width of the data columns in inches.
