Load Reports Tab of the Report Server Form

Use this tab in the Report Administration utility to load reports (.rdl files) onto the Vantagepoint report server from the application server.

This tab displays when either of the following apply:

  • The SaaS / Hosted Instance checkbox is not selected on the General tab of the Weblink utliity. (You use the Vantagepoint on-premises product.)
  • The SaaS / Hosted Instance checkbox is selected on the General tab of the Weblink utility and the Private SaaS checkbox is selected on the System Settings tab of the Weblink utility. (You use the Vantagepoint cloud product.)

To upload custom reports from a workstation to your Vantagepoint report server and make the reports available from the Reporting application in Vantagepoint, use the Custom Reports tab on the Report Server form.

Fields

Field Description
Location of Reports on Application Server Enter the file path location of the reports (.rdl files) on the report server.
Type Select the report type: Standard, Custom, or All.
Report Name If you want to load a single report, enter the name of the report here. (You do not need to supply the .rdl extension.)

This field can also be used as a wild card search. For example, if you enter Project, Vantagepoint searches for and loads all files that contain the word Project, such as Project List and Project Audit. Subreports will not be automatically loaded for main reports; they need to be loaded manually by name. If the Report Name field is left blank, all reports will load.

Delete Existing Reports in Each Folder Before Loading Select this checkbox to delete all reports of the type you selected that are currently loaded on the report server. Then the new reports are loaded. For example, if you have reports that are obsolete (no longer existing in the reports file directory), they are removed from the report server before the new ones are loaded.

This process does not delete all custom reports before loading. Vantagepoint leaves the current state on the report server unchanged prior to loading new custom reports. This could be useful if custom reports had been loaded at one point and the report files (.rdl files) no longer exist on the file system.

If you do not select this checkbox, new reports of the type you selected are loaded, but the reports that are currently loaded on the report server are not deleted. However, if a report currently exists, it is replaced with the new report.

Load Report Files Select this button to load the reports to the report server. Note that you must re-load a report file after each modification to ensure that the current version is used.
Check Report Version Select this report to compare the application server's .rdl file with the report server's file. Vantagepoint checks for and reports any inconsistencies.
  • If there are inconsistencies, an error message listing details of the issue is displayed.
  • If there are no inconsistencies, you receive a message stating that the version checking is complete. Click OK to return to the Load Reports tab.
