Set Matching Rules for Imported Records

View posted records that Vantagepoint suggests as matches for records imported from a bank statement. The suggestions are based on the parameters you set in Bank Settings, where you can specify which records you want to consider as a possible match, based on a range of dates or monetary amounts.

To set matching rules for imported records:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Settings > Cash Management > Banks.
  2. On the Banks form, enter a partial or complete name or number in the Find bank code lookup field to find and select the bank code record, and then select Edit on the Actions bar.
  3. Select the Import tab.
  4. In the Matching Rules section, enter a value for the Payment Days +/- and Payment Amount +/- fields.
For example, if you enter 5 in the Payment Days +/- field and 1.0 in the Payment Amount +/- field , a record displays as a suggestion if it is within a five-day difference between the bank document payment line and the bank statement line date and is off by a dollar of the imported payment transaction (assuming that you use dollars as your currency).
  5. In the Payment Matching and Receipt Matching grids, select a matching rule for each transaction.
For example, you can set imported cash disbursements transactions to suggest posted records based on amount and date.
  6. Click Save on the Actions bar.

When matching imported records, you can view the suggested posted records in the Suggested grid in the Match Transactions dialog box.
