Tax File Generation for United Kingdom VAT Return Files
You can now generate UK VAT tax files to submit to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). This applies for tax files you set up in Accounting » Tax File Generation in the desktop application. The interaction between Vantagepoint and HMRC uses an electronic API supplied by HMRC.
Before generating a UK VAT return, you must set up the appropriate box numbers on the Tax Reporting tab in Settings » Cash Management » Tax Codes. Before submitting your UK VAT return to HMRC, you must obtain HMRC authorization to give Vantagepoint authorization to interact with your data and HMRC. You should know your HMRC username and password to obtain access to the HMRC site.
Once you obtain HMRC authorization, you can obtain VAT Tax obligations from HMRC, prepare your VAT data for submission to HMRC, make the VAT submission to HMRC, and run a Tax Detail Report for a reporting period.
For details, see the Generate a UK VAT Tax Return File help topic (Accounting » Tax File Generation > How To) in the Contents pane for Vantagepoint help.
Improved Usability in the Projects Hub
This Vantagepoint version includes several enhancements to the New Project form, to the grid on the Edit Project Structure form, and to the List View grid for the Projects hub:
On the New Project form, you can now create and link a promotional project to a regular project as part of the process of creating that regular project.
When you use the option on the New Project form to create a new project from an existing project, you can select any existing project. Previously, you could only select a project with the same charge type as the project you were creating.
When an Accounting user creates a new project, the Approved for Use in Processing check box is now automatically selected by default.
In the grid on the Edit Project Structure form, in the List View grid on the Projects form, and on the Contract Management form, a number of columns related to primary client, billing client, accounts, location, and stage were read-only in prior releases. Those grid columns are now available for data entry.
In the Edit Project Structure grid and the List View grids, which display the work breakdown structure (WBS) for a project, the normal WBS hierarchy formatting is removed if you filter the grid contents. In prior releases, this made it difficult to distinguish between elements at different levels of the WBS. In this release, the parent-level WBS elements are shown in the Number or Name column for lower-level elements to make the structure more evident. For example, for a WBS3 element row, the Number column displays WBS1 number » WBS2 number » WBS3 number on that row.
Updated PHP Version
The server for this version of the Deltek CRM and Deltek Time & Expense for Vantagepoint has been upgraded to support PHP 7.2.15.
The Deltek CRM Mobile Application Has Been Translated into All Supported Languages in Vantagepoint
You now have the option to use the mobile application in any language that Vantagepoint supports. When you select your preferred language in the Language drop-down list on the login screen, the mobile application updates the language that it displays on all screens, except for what it uses in custom or user-defined fields. By default, it selects the language that you have set on your mobile device.
Aside from English (United States), the mobile application supports the following languages:
Dutch
English (International)
French (Canadian)
French (France)
German
Spanish
Portuguese
Ability to Save Partial Information in an Expense Report
You can now enter and save partial information in an expense report. This is useful when you do not have enough time to finish and submit the report right away. The mobile application only validates the details in the required fields (such as Category, Account, and Project) when you tap the submit button.

Client Export Report
The name of the Client Export report was changed to Firm Export. The word "client" was replaced with the word "firm" in all the column titles in the report. For example, Client Number is now Firm Number. Likewise, the label for the record search for the report was changed from Client to Firm. The record search includes all firm types: client, vendor, competitor, and government agency.
Enhanced Projects Import Data Synchronization and Validation
This version of Vantagepoint contains the following changes to the Projects import available in the Import utility in the desktop application:
If you import a date for any of the following date fields for a project, a corresponding milestone is added to the Milestones grid on the Dates & Costs tab of the Projects form, or if the milestone already exists, the milestone date is changed to the date in the import file:
ActCompletionDate (Actual Completion milestone)
BidDate (Bid Submitted milestone)
ConstComplDate (Construction Completion milestone)
ContractDate (Contract Awarded milestone)
EstCompletionDate (Estimated Completion milestone)
EstStartDate (Estimated Start milestone)
ProfServicesCompDate (Professional Services milestone)
StartDate (Actual Start milestone)
To import a new project, the import record must include a valid value for the ChargeType field, and for a project with the Regular charge type, it must include a valid value for the Stage field.
When you import a project, the import process now automatically sets the value of the Capacity Calculation field in the summary pane of the Projects hub. The Capacity Calculation field indicates if the project is included in the calculation of scheduled hours and percentages and of utilization hours and percentages that are used for resource planning and resource management. The import sets the Capacity Calculation value based on the In Pursuit Projects in Scheduled and Utilization setting on the Plan Settings form and on the project's charge type and stage.
Defect 1056715: This defect applies if you have multiple companies in Vantagepoint and you have the Post transaction immediately after calculation check box selected for processing revenue generation. It applies if a project with phases and tasks had an overall revenue method calculation defined at the project level and the project belonged to a different company than some of the task's companies. When you ran the revenue generation process in one of the task's companies, the adjustment entry posted to the project's company instead of the company of the adjustment phase/task.
Defect 1061164: Depreciation Processing calculated depreciation for the 13th period and should not have. This occurred when you set up 13 periods per fiscal year in Utilities » Periods » Period Setup and the annual periods per year was set to 12. The 13th period should have been for year-end adjustments only.
Defect 865103: When you downloaded records from List View for a hub, the .CSV file that was created was not organized correctly and included special characters seemingly at random throughout the data.
Defect 1044531: Users with security roles that do not have access to the labor cost rate tables received the following error when accessing the Employees hub: "You do not have access." However, they could still click OK and access the Employees hub. They should have been able to access the Employees hub without getting the error.
Defect 1066531: When you created a new contact on the Contacts tab in the Firms hub for a client-type firm, the Contact List report for the contact incorrectly showed the contact's Type as Vendor, Consultant, or Partner instead of Client.
Defect 1059589: When you added a contact on the Contacts tab in the Firms hub and you qualified the contact before adding it, the contact name did not display in the Contacts grid.
Defect 1072338: The letter "y" incorrectly displayed on the Summary pane of the Marketing Campaigns form in the space below the Actual Revenue field and above the Potential Revenue field.
Defect 1086457: When you created a project from an existing project or you copied a project, the Copy Plan check box and Start Date field were available even if your security role had read-only access to project plans.
Defect 839643: If Screen Designer was used to hide the Firms grid on the Team tab of the Projects form, you could not save changes for an existing project with a primary client assigned, nor could you add a new project and assign a primary client to it.
Defect 941789: If you did the following on the Invoices form in the Projects hub (Hubs » Projects » Invoices), a blank Additional Documentation dialog box appeared:
Click the Filed Invoice icon at the end of an invoice row in the grid.
On the Additional Documentation dialog box, select View Supporting Documents and click Continue.
While that invoice is loading, click the Filed Invoice icon at the end of a different invoice row multiple times.
Once the blank dialog box displayed, you had to log out and log back in before you could view invoices again.
Defect 1087033: The process for upgrading from DPS 1.1.x to Vantagepoint attempts to determine from each opportunity stage's name whether it should be assigned the Won, Lost, In Pursuit, or Do Not Pursue step in Vantagepoint. However, the upgrade process failed to handle the situation in which none of the stages was determined to be a Won stage. At least one Won stage is required so that it can be assigned to the previously existing regular projects that you are upgrading to Vantagepoint. In version 2.0.2, the upgrade process now creates a Won stage if none of your existing stages appears to be a Won stage.
Defect 1023315: If the Primary Client, Project Manager, and Principal fields in the Projects hub were locked using Screen Designer, the fields were not locked on the Edit Project Structure form when you were adding a new project. Primary Client appeared to be, and was, available for entry. Project Manager and Principal appeared to be locked, but you could double-click in the field and select an entry.
Defect 1078736: The conversion of opportunities into projects that occurs during the upgrade to Vantagepoint 2.0.2 from DPS 1.1.x (or from Vision) did not assign revenue methods to the projects created by that conversion process. That, in turn, resulted in an error when you later tried to save one of those projects because the revenue method was required, but missing.
Defect 1071613: Approval records were slow to load in the Approval Center.
Defect 1084262: When you changed an expense approval workflow, some of the line items were not updated when the workflow setup was edited and restarted, and those line items could not be approved.
Defect 1080690: If you opened a previously saved expense report using the Custom Search dialog box, an incorrect amount displayed in the Total Tax Amount field for the expense report.
Defect 1084656: When an expense report was selected for an employee that used credit cards, and an expense report was selected for a different employee that used credit cards, the Credit Card panel for the second employee did not populate with the second employee's records.
Defect 1069743: If you were not keeping separate balance sheets, when you entered an expense report in My Stuff » Expense Reports in the browser application, you were able to enter a project number with entries to balance sheet accounts.
Defect 1065938: When you viewed a payroll remittance for an hourly employee in Employee Review, the YTD hours/amounts included the succeeding payroll if Print pay rates for Hourly Employees was selected on the Checks tab in Settings » Payroll » General.
Defect 1088452: When you copied a rejected timesheet line item, the status incorrectly showed as Rejected in the new line item.
Defect 1073630: The All Missing filter in timesheet search used invalid logic that returned erroneous results.
Defect 1069739: When Time Entered In was set to Any in Settings » Time » Options, you could not enter specific times in the Start Time or End Time fields on a timesheet. After you entered a value and moved to another field, the Start Time or End Time field displayed as blank and you had to use the drop-down list to select time values in increments of quarter hours.
Defect 1063622: This defect applies if you use an alternate database for reporting. When you right-clicked a menu item from the Reporting or Hubs menu in the desktop application and selected Open in New Window, the following error message displayed: "DatabaseID [ALTREPORT] already exists." When you closed the error message dialog box, the desktop login screen displayed.
Defect 954187: In some cases when you were working in the grid on the Labor tab of the Plan form, the rows in the right grid section became misaligned with the rows in the left and middle grid sections.
Defect 1070259: This issue applies if you use QuickBooks Online with Vantagepoint and you use QuickBooks Online Payroll. Employees who were terminated in QuickBooks Online were added to Vantagepoint with an Active status if a date was not entered in the Released Date field for the employees in QuickBooks Online. If you do not use Payroll in QuickBooks Online, this problem did not occur.
In 1.1.21 and going forward, if you use QuickBooks Online Payroll, in QuickBooks Online you must enter a termination date in the Released Date field for employees in order to prevent them from being added to Vantagepoint with an Active status.
Defect 814964: The Date Range filter for the Accrued Time report did not work properly because it was based on the post date of the accrual posting entries instead of the end date (accrual date) of the posting.
Defect 1008453: If, on the Options tab for the Project Progress report, you set Labor Detail to Current by Employee or JTD by Employee, and you also selected Consultant Breakout, detail rows for expenses were missing from the report. If you selected any other options in Labor Detail, or you did not select Consultant Breakout, the report correctly included expenses detail rows.
Defect 1073035: In certain cases, the Labor Resource Planned and Actuals report displayed incorrect planned billing amounts in some calendar period columns. (On the Labor tab of the Plan form in the Projects hub, the corresponding planned amounts were correct.)
Defect 1078612: If you selected a user-defined grid in Grid Type and one or more of the columns from that grid on the Columns & Groups tab for the Project List report, an error occured when previewing the report.
Defect 1046219: The Summary report for a user-defined hub was not correctly sorting grid data by date columns when you specified that a date column in the grid be used as a sorting column for the grid.
Defect 1025233: If you sorted the Contract Management report by contract status, the non-numeric data columns (for example, Request Date, Approved Date, Period) should have been blank on the Contract Status rows, but instead contained the same data that displayed on one of the detail rows below. (The amount columns on the Contract Status rows correctly contained the rolled-up totals for the status.)
Defect 952734: If you selected the option on the Column Settings & Selections dialog box to sort resources by name, displaying and scrolling the contents of the Project View grid or Resource View grid was slow.
Defect 1083006: Certain sequences of actions in the Project View or Resource View grids caused the grids to refresh incorrectly, with the result that some rows were no longer aligned across the three grid sections.
Defect 1082968: When the Users application was set to Read Only access rights on the Record Access tab of Role Security, and the Allow Modification of Passwords in Users When Read-only Access option was selected, an error message displayed when you attempted to change the password from the Users application.
Defect 1055441: On the Organization tab in Settings » General » General System in the browser application, you received a "Procedure call or argument is not valid" error when you clicked + Add Entry to add a new organization code.
Defect 1005573: If you tried to search for projects on the Contacts screen, the mobile application did not display search results. This behavior was not consistent with that of the Vantagepoint browser application.
Defect 1076146: If you tried to remove the association of a firm to a project in the Projects hub, an error message displayed.
Defect 1072536: If you tapped the Memo field on the UDF tab of the Add Firm screen, you could not enter data in the text field on the Memo screen.
Defect 1072525: If your submitted expense report had two approvers and one of the approvers had already approved it, the Reopen button was still available on that expense report. If you tapped the Reopen button, an error message displayed, informing you that the report status had changed. You could not open and submit the expense report again.
Defect 1053000: This issue applies if you use multiple currencies in Vantagepoint. When you posted an AP voucher with a tax code that had the same currency as the voucher pament currency, and an override rate was used to calculate the payment amount, the daily exchange rate was used instead of the override rate to calculate the tax amount.
Defect 1087991: When you attempted to create a new project with Charge Type set to Regular, Stage set to In Pursuit, and How to Create Project set to From GovWin IQ, an error message displayed and the project would not load.
