Life Events

Use this drop-down box to select a life event. The list displays all life events that have been set up.

If no valid life events have been set up, the Escalation Table will be disabled and the system will display the following error message: "No Life Events exist. To save Workflow options for Life Events, you must run the Synchronization Utility."

Initial - # of Days Remaining

The # of Days Remaining field is disabled for the Initial row.

Initial - Notify Employee

Select the first notification method for the selected life event, indicating what notification method you would like to use. You can automate the notifications using the Scheduled processes feature.

Upgrade Medium - # of Days Remaining

Select the number of days remaining in the life event change period. This controls when the Life Event is upgraded to medium priority.  

Upgrade Medium - Notify Employee

Select the notification method for the life event. The system sends notifications based on priority by using the Self Service Status Inquiry. You can automate the notifications using the Scheduled processes feature.

Upgrade High - # of Days Remaining

Select the number of days remaining in the life Event change period. This controls when the Life Event is upgraded to high priority.  

Upgrade High - Notify Employee

Select the notification method for the life event. The system sends notifications based on priority by using the Self Service Status inquiry.  You can automate the notifications using the Scheduled processes feature.

E-mail Employee on Confirmation

If you select this checkbox, employees will be notified via e-mail after confirming the life event.  

E-mail Functional Role #1 and Role #2 on Confirmation

If you select this checkbox, all employees attached to functional role #1 and functional role #2 will be notified via e-mail when an employee has confirmed a life event.

E-mail Functional Role #1 if Life Event Requires Approval

If you select this checkbox, all employees attached to functional role #1 will be notified via e-mail when an employee has initiated the life event, if the life event has been set up to require approval.

E-mail Functional Role #1 if Elections Require Approval

If you select this checkbox, all employees attached to role #1 will be notified via e-mail when an employee has initiated the life event, if the employee has selected a benefit that requires approval.

Role #1

Select the functional role #1 for this life event. The list displays all functional roles set up in the system. Whoever is attached to a functional role has domain/access over a group of employees.  

If you do not enter a functional Role #1 on this screen, the functional role #1 will not receive any notifications.

Role #2

Select the functional role #2 for this life event. The list displays all functional roles set up in the system. Whoever is attached to a functional role has domain/access over a group of employees.

If you do not enter a functional Role #2 on this screen, the functional role #2 will not receive any notifications.

Benefits Enrollment

If you select this checkbox, all employees attached to functional role #1 will be notified via e-mail when employees have confirmed their benefits enrollment elections.

E-mail Functional Role if Elections Require Approval

If you select this checkbox, all employees attached to the functional role selected below will be notified via e-mail when an employee has initiated benefits enrollment, if the employee selects a benefit that requires approval.

Role

Select the functional role that will be notified via e-mail if elections require approval. The list displays all functional roles that are set up in the system. Whoever is attached to a functional role has domain/access over a group of employees.  

If you do not select a functional Role in this screen, the role will not receive any notifications.
