UDT07

UDT07 is one of the most important UDTs in the system because you can link it to one of the prime UDTs, UDT02 or UDT01.

You can also create different descriptions for the same UDT07 when you link it to a different UDT01 or UDT02. This makes UDT07 an excellent choice for data that is charge specific.

For example, you use UDT07 as a labor category. UDT07 "P1" is "Programmer I" in the UDT07 table. For a specific project/job, you could use a different description, such as "Programmer/Analyst."

UDT07 is used for the Labor Category field. The UDT07 table entries are the "Company Specific" Labor Categories whereas the linked UDT01/UDT07 entries are the "Job Specific" Labor Categories.

UDT07 is used for the PLC field. You will use it only if employees need to change their PLC code in the system or if reports using the PLC code are required. You will link it to UDT02 so that you can restrict the PLCs that are valid for UDT02.

When do I use the UDT07 screen?

Use this tabbed screen to add, edit, delete, and link items for UDT07.

The UDT07 screen tabs

The tabs available in this screen are Basic Information, UDT01 Links , and UDT02 Links.

Use the first tab to provide basic information on the item and the two other tabs to provide links to other tables. Please note that one or both link tabs may be disabled if the system has been so configured.

You cannot delete a UDT07 code that is being used on a timesheet line or on an expense report.
