Special Topic: Line Sorting and Column Sizing

Summary

You can use the line sorting feature to sort the lines on your timesheet by selecting a hyperlink in any of the UDT or charge description columns. The ordering of the timesheet lines will remain in effect until you change it. The same timesheet line order will appear on the Revision Explanation and Revision Audit dialogs and on your printed timesheet.

When you resize any of the UDT or charge description columns, the sizing feature will store the new size as your employee preference. The size will remain in effect on your timesheet until you change it.

Timesheet Screen

The charge description and UDT column headings contain a hyperlink. If you select this hyperlink, the timesheet lines will be sorted and redisplayed as follows:

If you are using Project or Account or Org abbreviations, the sorting will be based on the abbreviation, rather than the ID.

The order of the timesheet lines will be saved when you save the timesheet. It will remain in effect on the timesheet screen until you change it. The same timesheet line number and order will appear in the Revision Explanation and Revision Audit dialogs.

When you resize any of the UDT or charge description columns (by clicking and dragging the column separator), the size will be stored as your employee preference when you save the timesheet. It will remain in effect on the timesheet until you change it. If you are a supervisor viewing your employee's timesheet, you will still see the sizes you selected as your preferences, rather than those selected by the employee.

Printing the Timesheet

The ordering of the timesheet lines on the printed timesheet report will match the order selected on the timesheet screen. The Cell Comments, Line Comments, and Revision Audit reports will also reflect the order on the timesheet screen.
