This topic provides an overview of the Deltek Mobile Time configuration steps. This information can also be found in your Deltek Time Collection Getting Started.
Deltek Mobile Time is an add-on product for Time Collection users. It is completely interchangeable with the desktop version of Time Entry, and users can switch between both versions without the need to synchronize.

Before you install the Deltek Mobile Time application, you must first install Time & Expense with ESS version 8.3.x. You can download the installation guide (in PDF format) from the Deltek Customer Care Connect site at https://deltek.custhelp.com.
The Deltek Mobile Time application is a separate installation, which is performed on your BlackBerry Enterprise Server. It should be installed only after you have installed Deltek Time & Expense with ESS version 8.3.x.
For instructions on installing Deltek Mobile Time, see the Deltek Mobile Time™ 8.3.x New Installation Guide. You can download this guide (in PDF format) from the Deltek Customer Care Connect site at https://deltek.custhelp.com. It is also available from the Deltek Software Distribution site when you download the software.
This step is optional. You can allow users to log on to Deltek Mobile Time using a PIN (personal identification number) instead of a password. The PIN is automatically synchronized with the regular system password, but it cannot be used to log on to the desktop version of the Time Entry module.
Because the PIN is synchronized with the password, the PIN stands in for the password when users log on to Mobile Time. However, since the PIN is only four digits, it is easier to enter it when logging on from a hand-held device.
When an employee later changes his or her system password, the PIN is automatically synchronized with it. However, should a logon attempt be made before the synchronization occurs, Deltek Mobile Time requires the user to enter the system password instead.
To enable the PIN option, complete the following steps.
Click Administration on the module toolbar.
On module menu, click the Product Configuration » General Configuration » General Options tab.
On the General Options tab, select the Allow PIN use on mobile device check box.
Click Save.
Because mobile devices have a more limited screen space, you may want to create abbreviated versions of UDT labels. This is accomplished from the Mobile Label column on the UDT tab in General Configuration.
To set UDT short labels for Deltek Mobile Time, complete the following steps:
Click Administration on the module toolbar.
On module menu, click the Product Configuration » General Configuration » UDT Options tab.
In the Mobile Label column on the UDT tab, enter an abbreviated version for each applicable UDT. For example, if UDT 01 is “Account,” the abbreviated version could be “Acct.”
In this step you will set the default options for both Timesheet View (1 column/ 6 rows, or 1 column/3 rows) and Timesheet Line Sort (sort by Project ID, Project Description, or Line Number). Employees can later override these default options from the Options menu within Mobile Time.
To set the default options, complete the following steps:
Click Time on the module toolbar.
On module menu, click the Settings » Time Configuration » Miscellaneous tab.
From the Timesheet View drop-down list under Mobile Defaults, select the number of lines (3 or 6) that you want to display on the timesheet.
From the Timesheet Line Sort drop-down list, select the default for sorting timesheet lines, either UDT 01, UDT 02, or Line Number
Click Save.
In this step you configure the charge lookup options that will be available to employees from the Deltek Mobile Time Search Charge Lookup screen. Note, however, that if you already have an existing Time & Expense with ESS installation, these options may already be configured, and the current configuration settings will apply to Deltek Mobile Time.
To configure charge lookup options, complete the following steps:
Click Time on the module toolbar.
From the main menu in Deltek Time & Expense with ESS, click Settings » Timesheet Classes » Basic Information tab.
Use the Search feature to select the Timesheet Class that you want to configure for Deltek Mobile Time.
Under Costpoint/Mobile Time Lookup Options, select the check box next to each lookup option you want to enable.
Show Project
Show MO (this option is available only to Costpoint users)
Show Account
Click Save.
In this step you will create a location for storing the Mobile Time message bundles.
To set message bundle location, complete the following steps:
From the Technical Console, open the Domain Details screen.
In the Mobile Message Bundle Location field, enter the location where message bundle files should be stored.
Click OK to save your changes.
To customize the text application screens and generate the message bundles, complete the following steps:
From the main menu in Deltek Time & Expense with ESS, click the Administration on the module toolbar.
On the module menu, Product Configuration » Custom Text.
On the Custom Text screen, select Mobile from the Module drop-down list.
From the Screen/Application field, select the screen or application for which you want to create custom text.
If applicable, select a value from the Page drop-down list. For example, to change the column names on the Timesheet, select Overall Timesheet.
Select the check box next to the message you want to customize and click Edit.
In the Edit Text box, enter the custom text and then click OK.
Repeat steps 3-6 for each remaining application that requires custom text.
When you finish customizing the text messages, click Create File(s) to generate the message bundle files
In the Create File(s) dialog, review the selected languages. If you don’t want to generate a message bundle for any of the selected languages, clear the check box next to that language.
Click Create File(s).
