Use the Charge Branches/Charges tab to add, edit, and delete charge branches and charges. Also use this tab to drill down further into the existing charge branches. This screen displays when you select the "+" button for a specific charge tree.
A graphical charge tree representation displays at the top of the screen as you drill down into a tree and its branches. Each level above the current level displays as a hyperlink in the graphical charge tree. Select any of these links to display the information at that level.
Use the Sort By drop-down box to select the order in which the charge branches/charges information display. The available options are "Code" or "Description." If you change the Sort By value, the table will display in the newly chosen option.
In order to drill down to the further charge branch information or charge information for a charge branch, select the "+" button to the left of the charge branch row. The tab will display branches and charges for the branch selected.
This non-editable column displays the UDT01 or UDT02 name for the charge in accordance with the linkage set up in the UDT Options tab in the General Configuration screen. If you are linking UDT02 and UDT01, the UDT02 name will display. If you are not linking UDT02 and UDT01, the UDT01 name will display.
This non-editable column displays all charge branch codes at this level for the charge tree. If you drill down to a charge level, it will display the charge branch code for the charge.
This non-editable check box will be selected if this charge branch/charge has restricted access. If the check box is not selected, there will be no restrictions for this charge branch/charge at this level.
This non-editable column displays UDT01 information if the row is a charge level and UDT01 information was previously saved for this user-defined table.
This non-editable column displays UDT02 information if the row is a charge level and UDT02 information was previously saved for this user-defined table.
This non-editable column displays UDT03 information if the row is a charge level and UDT03 information was previously saved for this user-defined table.
This non-editable column displays UDT04 information if the row is a charge level and UDT04 information was previously saved for this user-defined table.
This non-editable column displays UDT05 information if the row is a charge level and UDT05 information was previously saved for this user-defined table.

This non-editable check box will be selected if this charge branch/charge is active.
This non-editable column displays hours budgeted for this project.
Click Add Charge to add a charge to the charge branch.
This non-editable field displays the charge tree code to which charges are being added.
This non-editable field displays the charge branch code to which charges are being added.
This non-editable field displays a concatenation of all user-defined table IDs selected in this dialog.
If you are linking UDT02 and UDT01, the UDT02 ID will be the first user-defined table ID in the charge code. The UDT01 ID will follow the UDT02 ID. After that, the other user-defined table IDs will be included in numeric order, i.e., UDT03, UDT04, etc.
If you are not linking UDT02 and UDT01, the charge code will be concatenated in numeric order starting with the UDT01 ID.
Each tree, branch and code combination must be unique.
You can override the description of the Charge by entering a value in this field. If the employee does a Lookup in Deltek Time or Deltek Expense, the Charge/Branch Description will display the value that you enter here. This field will also be shown on the Charge Branch/Charge table in the Description field.
This drop-down box will display only if you have configured your system to use the Costpoint multicompany feature and you are using either UDT06 or UDT07, or both. Select the Costpoint company that you want to associate with the UDT06/UDT07. All Costpoint companies set up in your system are available for selection. "None" is the default.
You can configure your system to use Costpoint multicompany by selecting the appropriate checkbox in the Miscellaneous tab of the General Configuration screen. Establish UDT06 and UDT07 usage in the UDT Options tab of the General Configurations screen.
If you use Lookup in the UDT06 or UDT07 fields, the values that display are those associated with the Costpoint Company you select. If you accept the default "None" (you do not select a Costpoint company), the UDT06 and UDT07 fields will be disabled.

Use this field to update the hours budgeted for this project. The field provides a convenient way for you to update hours directly from Deltek Time and Expense with Employee Self Service, rather than from an SQL script. The hours you enter here display in the Budgeted Hours column at the far right side of the Charge Trees table. Your updated hours are saved to the database, along with the other charge-related data.
This field is optional.
Select this check box if the charge should be active in the system. The default value is selected.
Select this check box to restrict access to the charge. After clicking OK , you can select this charge from the table to access the Restrictions tab. In the Restrictions tab, you specify which employees can have access to this charge.
If you do not select this check box, the charge will be available.
Click OK to add the charge. The charge will display in the table.
Click Cancel to close the dialog without adding the charge.
Click Add Branch to add a branch to a charge tree or to add a lower level charge branch to an existing branch.
This non-editable field displays the charge tree code where the charge branch is being added.
This non-editable field displays the higher-level charge branch code where the charge branch is being added. If you are adding the higher-level charge branch, this field will display blanks.
Enter up to 50 characters for a charge branch code. The Charge Tree Code and Charge Branch Code combination must be unique.
Enter up to 30 characters for a charge branch description.
Select this check box to restrict access to the charge branch. After clicking OK, you can select this charge branch from the table to access the Restrictions tab. In the Restrictions tab, you specify which employee groups can have access to this charge branch.
If you do not select this check box, the charge branch is available.
Select OK to add the charge branch. The charge branch will display in the table.
Click Cancel to close the dialog without adding the charge.
Select a charge/branch row in the table by selecting the button to the left of the row. Then click Edit Charge/Branch to edit the charge/branch. If the row is a charge, the Edit Charge dialog box will display.

Choose the charge branch(es) and/or charge(es) that you wish to delete by selecting the checkbox(s) to the left of the row. Then click Delete Charges/Branches to delete the row(s).
If you select a charge branch for deletion, the system will display the following confirmation message: "Are you sure you want to delete branch(s) and all lower levels?"
If you select Yes, the system will delete the charge branch and all lower levels including charges from the appropriate tables. It will also remove the charge/branch for any employee who has it set up as a favorite.
If you select No, nothing will be deleted.
If you select a charge for deletion, no confirmation message will be given. The application will delete the charge from the appropriate tables and remove it for any employee who has it set up as a favorite.
