Dependent Care FSA

Use the Dependent Care FSA application to view an existing record or add a new record.

When do I use the Dependent Care FSA screen?

The Dependent Care FSA screen displays the current and new annual contribution and pay frequency amount, allowing you to make a new election amount during the Benefits Enrollment or Life Events/New Hires processes.

Current Annual Contribution

This field displays the annual contribution election.  

Current <Frequency>

This field displays the elected per pay period deduction amount.

New Annual Contribution

Enter a new annual contribution amount.  The message below the  table states the maximum annual amount that you can contribute: "You may enter a New Annual Contribution amount up to <maximum amount displays here>."

When you tab out of the New Annual Contribution field or select the Save button, the system calculates the New <Frequency> amount for you.   The system checks to make sure that the New Annual Contribution election amount does not exceed the annual maximum Dependent Care FSA amount that is entered in Costpoint’s Dependent Care FSA Set Up screen.  If the amount you entered exceeds this amount, the system will display the following error message: "Your New Annual Contribution amount must not exceed the maximum calendar year Dependent Care FSA amount of <maximum amount displays here>."

New <Frequency>

Enter the pay period deduction amount.  If you do not wish to participate in the Dependent Care FSA plan, you must enter "0.00" in the New <Frequency> field.

When you tab out of the New <Frequency> field or select the Save pushbutton, the system calculates the amount (including any amounts already contributed).

Click FSA Worksheet to estimate, by category, the amounts for unreimbursed dependent care you plan to set aside for the new calendar year.

Select this button to return to the splash screen.

Back

Select this button to return to the previous page.

Come Back Later

Select this button to update the database with a placeholder and proceed to the next screen/page.  Then you can revisit the Benefits Enrollment process to complete the election at a later time.

Save

Select this button to update the database with your changes and proceed to the next screen/page.
