Address/Phone

Use the Address/Phone screen to set up personal contact information.  You can access the screen through the menu option or through a life event option (when a life event is in process).    

When do I use the Address/Phone screen?

Use this screen to make additions, edits, or deletions to contact information.

Address

Type

Use the drop-down box to select the type of address you want to enter. The valid values are:

If  you select the Same Mailing and Home Address checkbox, "Home" will change to "Mailing," and "Home" will no longer display in the Type drop-down box. If you do not select the Same Mailing and Home Address checkbox, a Home address will be required.

The "Mailing" address is always required.  The "Home" address is required when the Same Mailing and Home Address checkbox is not selected.  In either case, the following fields are required:  Street 1, City, State/Province, and Postal Code.

Street 1

Enter up to a 30-character, alphanumeric street address, line 1.

Street 2

Enter up to a 30-character, alphanumeric street address, line 2.

Street 3

Enter up to a 30-character, alphanumeric street address, line 3.

City

Enter up to 25 alphanumeric characters for the city.

State/Province

Use the drop-down box to select the state/province associated with the address entered/displayed on the screen.  The valid values are the states/provinces set up in Costpoint for the selected Country.  If you change the Country, State/Province will be refreshed.

Postal Code

Enter up to 10 alphanumeric characters for the postal code.

A change in the State/Province or Postal Code can launch a Life Event process. The system checks to see whether a Move Event has been set up in the ESS Company Settings screen in Costpoint.  If a Move Event has been set up and your State/Province or Postal Code has been changed, the system will display an Effective Date pop-up box:

Thank you for your information.  Your change in Address/Telephone has created a Life Event.  You are now being launched into Life Events to complete the process associated with this event.  Enter the effective date of your change and hit ‘OK’ to continue.  Note:  The effective date is required in order to save your Address/Telephone change.”   

When you enter the effective date of the Life Event, the system launches the Instructions Page within the Life Event process.

Postal Code Formatting

A display field shows how the postal code should be entered on the screen (if it is set to be validated in the ESS Configuration screen).

Country

Use the drop-down box to select the country associated with the address entered/displayed on the screen.  The valid values are the countries that are set up in Costpoint.  If you change the Country, the State/Province drop-down box will be repopulated with valid values based on Country selected.

Same Mailing and Home Address

Select this checkbox if your mailing and home addresses are the same. If you select this checkbox, "Home" will be removed from the Type drop-down box and deleted from the system. Only the "Mailing" address will be saved to the system.

The Vendor Address may also be updated.

If the ESS Company Settings confirmation flag in Costpoint is set to "Y," the system will ask you: “Would you like to update your vendor address with your mailing address?”  If you select Yes, the Costpoint Vendor file will be updated with the mailing address entered on the screen.  If you select No, the vendor file will not be updated.

Phone Formatting

A display field shows how the phone number should be entered on the screen (if it is set to be validated in the ESS Configuration screen).

Home

Enter up to 25 alphanumeric characters for your home telephone.

Ext

Enter up to six alphanumeric characters for your home telephone extension.

Office

Enter up to 25 alphanumeric characters for your business telephone.

Ext

Enter up to six alphanumeric characters for your office telephone extension.

Mobile

Enter up to 25 alphanumeric characters for your mobile (cellular) telephone.

Ext

Enter up to six alphanumeric characters for your mobile (cellular) extension.

Pager

Enter up to 25 alphanumeric characters for your pager number.

Ext

Enter up to six alphanumeric characters for your pager extension.

Other

Enter up to 25 alphanumeric characters for an additional telephone number.

Ext

Enter up to six alphanumeric characters for your other telephone number extension.

Home E-Mail

Enter up to 60 alphanumeric characters for your home e-mail address.
