Use this screen to specify your preference settings such as the Locale that you wish to use and the default screen that you wish to appear when you log into the system. You can also designate the number of timesheets and/or expense reports that appear in your desktop.
Use this screen any time you wish to change one of your preference settings.
The Preferences screen is a maintenance application. It does not have any tabs because all information is collected on the one screen.
Select the locale that you wish to use when you log on to Deltek Time & Expense with ESS. The locale is a combination of the country code and language code. When you change the locale, the language for field labels on the login screen change to match the locale you selected.
The default country code and language code "United States/English" displays the first time you enter this screen.
The other language/locale choices include the following:

Espanol/Espana
Espanol/Estados Unidos
Le Francais/La France
Nederlands/Nederland
If your Web browser accepts cookies, Deltek Time and Expense with Employee Self Service retains your locale/language preferences for future use. Otherwise, English is the default language.
Select the screen that you wish to appear when you log into Deltek Time\Expense\Self Service . The available options depend on your licensing. If you are licensed for Deltek Time only, they are "Desktop," "Splash," and "Timesheet." If you are licensed for Deltek Expense only, they are "Desktop," "Splash," and "Expense Report." If you are licensed for both Deltek Time and Deltek Expense, they are:

The selection in the Default Screen field in the General Options tab of the General Configuration screen defaults here when you initially enter this screen.
Select the type of notification you wish to receive when workflow events are sent. The available options are "Alert" and "Email." The selection in the Notification Method field in the General Options tab of the General Configuration screen defaults here when you initially enter this screen.
Select this checkbox to have the Deltek Time\Expense\Self Service menu appear on the left of your screen. The status of the Show Menu checkbox in the General Options tab of the General Configuration screen defaults here when you initially enter this screen.
If you do not select this checkbox, the menu will not appear on the left of your screen. Leave this checkbox unchecked if you plan on setting up your menu options in the MyMenu area of your desktop.
Select the number of timesheets that you want to appear on your Desktop in the MyTimesheets area. The available options are "1" through "25." The selection in the Number of MyTimesheets field in the Miscellaneous tab of the General Configuration screen defaults here when you initially enter this screen.
Select this checkbox if you wish the employee charge favorites that are set up for auto load in your favorites screen to automatically load on a new timesheet. The status of the Auto Load Favorites checkbox in the Miscellaneous tab of the General Configuration screen defaults here when you initially enter this screen.
If you do not select this checkbox, the auto load feature will not automatically load the selected charges on a new timesheet.
Select the number of expense reports that you want to appear on your Desktop in the MyExpense Reports area. The available options are "1" through "25." The selection in the Number of MyExpense Reports field in the Miscellaneous tab of the Expense Configuration screen defaults here when you initially enter this screen.
Select this check box to hide voided expense reports in the MyExpenseReports section on your desktop.
Leave this check box unselected to display voided expense reports on your desktop.
Select this check box to hide from view your voided expense authorizations in the MyExpenseAuthorizations section on your desktop.
Leave this check box unselected to display voided expense authorizations on your desktop.
Use the drop-down box to select the time zone in which you reside. The list contains all of the time zones currently in use around the world. When you enter timesheets or expense reports, the system will compare the time zone to the server’s time zone to determine whether or not you are allowed charge time against the charges you have selected.
In the event that you forget your password for Time & Expense with ESS, you may be allowed to reset it yourself by correctly answering a predefined security question. If your user profile allows this, you will provide the correct answer the first time you log in.
If you later need to change the answer, you can do so by typing the new answer in the Answer field.
