Application Basics: Introduction

The system comprises many different applications. In general, three types of applications display in the application area.

• Maintenance application

• Process application

• Timesheet application

Maintenance Application

A maintenance application starts out as an empty form view. The application may or may not have tabs, and it may or may not have navigation icons. Basic applications have the following characteristics:

• Application options

• Navigation options

• Description of record is displayed above the form

• Background spans entire application area

• Tabs may or may not be featured

Process Application

This type of application may consist of a simple or tabbed form. There are no Add, Search, or Edit functions because the screen updates a single record and/or performs a process. Process applications have the following characteristics:

•  No application options

•  Background centered in application area

•  May have tabs

Timesheet Application

This is the most sophisticated and widely used application in the system. The timesheet application has the following characteristics:

• Application options

•  Navigation icons

•  Spans entire application area

•  Spreadsheet-like grid
