You can use the Charge Security feature to limit the information seen in the UDT01 and UDT02 screens by users of a particular security role. Accomplish this by selecting the Apply Charge Level Security checkbox in the Security Roles screen. If you select this checkbox, the users that are assigned the particular security role will see only those charges (UDT01/UDT02) that they supervise (that is, the employee has been added to the Supervisors tab of the appropriate UDT01/UDT02 record).
UDT01/UDT02 - Add the appropriate employees as supervisors in the Supervisors tab of the UDT01/UDT02 screen. Assign the supervisors the appropriate functional role.
Update an existing security role or create a new security role with the activated charge level security feature. Open the Security Roles screen in the General Setup menu and select the Apply Charge Level Security checkbox for the appropriate security role.
Make sure the appropriate supervisor is assigned the correct security role. Open the Employee Information screen in the Personnel menu and, if necessary, update the Security Role field on the Defaults tab with the security role from the previous step.
You want to limit Project Manager A's access to projects 1000 and 1003.
UDT02 screen - Add Project Manager A in the Supervisors tab for project 1000 and 1003.
Apply charge security. Open the Security Roles screen. Select the Apply Charge Level Security checkbox for the security role that is assigned to Project Manager A.
Verify the security role. Open the Employee Information screen. Make sure the security role assigned to Project Manager A in the Defaults tab matches the security role from the previous step.
When Project Manager A opens the UDT02 screen and does a search, he will see only charges 1000 and 1003. The Save and Delete functions will be disabled.
