Steps Tab of the Schedule Analysis View

Activity steps are similar to milestones and can add significant value to project scheduling. A scheduler can assign several steps to an activity and weight each step to apportion its value compared to other steps. Steps allow you to measure the progress of an activity objectively. When a step is completed, the weight on the step is used to calculate the Physical Percent Complete on the activity, which in turn is used to calculate the earned value.

The steps displayed on this tab follow the order defined in the schedule. You can click a column heading to sort the grid, but the sort is not remembered and reverts to the Primavera P6 or Open Plan order when you move to the next activity or return to the view. You cannot insert or delete steps in the grid.

Step notes that are added in Open Plan and Primavera P6 do not display in PM Compass.

All steps are set to Complete/100 % when you:

This tab is read only and is only visible when the project, or subproject, is linked to a Primavera P6 (or higher) or Open Plan 8.2 (or higher) schedule.
