PM Compass uses the term "progress cycle" to refer to a process that occurs weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly in an organization. In each progress cycle:
PM Compass searches the activities or work packages looking for records that need progress entered.
The assignee is notified and enters progress.
The progress is submitted and the approver is notified.
The approver approves the progress.
The source system (cost or schedule) is updated with the new progress.
All of these steps are considered the progress cycle. The creation of the progress entries and the selection of activities or work packages that require progress is based on this cycle.
