If the parent’s current step is a Reject action to cancel or suspend, the child will also be cancelled and or suspended.
Children can only be resumed if you resume the parent.
You cannot resume the parent workflow steps without resuming the workflow steps of the children.
PM Compass updates the following fields after you cancel the workflow: (applicable to both parent and child)
My Action Required, Due Date, My Workflow Status (for open assignment records)

When a parent starts, it does not follow that the child also starts. You need to start the child separately.
