Values Dialog Box

Use the Values dialog box to select or add a value that you want to display in either a Dropdown or a Lookup data type. The exact name of this dialog box depends on the value that you enter in the Label column. For example, if you enter "Location," the dialog box name becomes Location Values.

Values Grid

This grid displays the available values that you can display as default in the drop-down or lookup.

Click the drop-down arrow to display the following options:

  • Print — Select this option to display the Print Preview form.

  • Export to Excel — Select this option to open the Microsoft Excel application with the grid’s contents displayed.

Insert

Click this button to add a value to the list of existing values.

Move Up

Select a value and then click this button to move up the value name according to your preferred location in the grid.

Move Down

Select a value and then click this button to move down the value name according to your preferred location in the grid.

Delete

Select a value and then click this button to remove it from the list of value in the Values grid.

Grid Columns

Value

This column displays the list of values that you can select as default. It also allows you to add a value. By default, this column is blank.

Code

This column displays the code for the value that matches the Value column. It also allows you to modify the code. By default, this column displays the same value that you specify in the Value column.

Default Value

This column provides you with an option whether to set the selected value as default for the custom field. By default, the option is not selected.

Click OK to save the values when you save your changes in the User-Defined Data form. Otherwise, click Cancel. For related topics about this dialog box, click Help.
