Unlink a Document from a Conversation
As the creator of a conversation, you can unlink documents. This is useful if you share a document in error, for example, or when a document needs to be updated.
When you unlink a document from a Teams conversation, it does not remove the original document link from the post. Instead, an update is added to the conversation indicating that the document has been removed from scope by the user who shared it. You can re-share the document to the same conversation later using the Reply to a Conversation option.
To unlink a document from a conversation:
- Navigate to the shared document.
-
Do either of the following to open the document summary:
- In Smart View, click .
- In Classic View, click the document.
-
In the Teams section, click
to expand the conversation.
-
Click
for the document that you want to unlink.
- On the Remove PIM link from Conversation prompt, click Yes to confirm.
You can also unlink documents from conversations you have created via the My Teams Conversations Dashpart.
