Create Phase From Dialog Box

Use the Create Phase from dialog box to create a new phase from an existing contract phase record or a contract template.

Location

To display the dialog box, complete the following steps:

  1. From the GovWin Capture Management Navigation menu, click Info Center > Contracts.
  2. On the Contract Info Center toolbar, click New > Create Phase from.

Field Description
Copy From Use this drop-down list to select the type of record that you want to copy. The selection that you make determines which fields display.
  • Copy From Existing Contract displays two Contract fields:
    • Click Search in the first field to select an existing contract with phases.
    • Click Search in the second field to select the phase on which the new phase will be based.
  • Copy From Contract Template displays two Template Contract fields:
    • Click Search in the first field to select a contract template with phases.
    • Click Search in the second field to select the contract template phase on which the new phase will be based.
New Phase The first field displays the contract number of the contract receiving the new phase. The second field is blank. Enter the new phase number in this field. The phase number is the second level of the Work Breakdown Structure.
Short Name This field displays the phase's short name, based on the contract phase or contract template phase that you selected to copy. You can edit the phase's short name. You can use a phase's short name if the phase's full name is too long to fully display on contract reports and invoices.
Long Name This field displays the phase's long name, based on the contract phase or contract template phase record that you selected to copy. You can edit the phase's long name.
