Primary Disciplines
A primary discipline is an employee's main area of expertise or skill, such as architect or civil engineer. Maintain an accurate list of disciplines and employee skills to streamline the proposal process and ensure that you have the expertise needed to bid on opportunities and win contracts.
You can associate multiple skills with each employee on the Skills grid on the Experience tab of the Employee Info Center, but only one skill can be marked Primary.
The Proposals application uses primary disciplines in these ways:
- In SF254 Proposals (Block 8) and SF255 Proposals (Block 4), GovWin Capture Management enters the skill marked Primary in the Employee Info Center as the employee's primary discipline.
- For SF330 Proposals, you select the disciplines that you need to complete a contract, then enter these disciplines into your proposal. GovWin Capture Management searches the Employee Info Center for employees whose primary skill matches the disciplines that are required for the proposal.
