Key Convert Reference Number Format Form

Use the Key Convert Reference Number Format form to change the format of reference numbers.

Display the Key Convert Reference Number Format Form

You display the form in Utilities.

To display the form:

From the GovWin Capture Management Navigation menu, click Utilities > Key Formats > Reference Numbers.

Contents of the Key Convert Reference Number Format Form

Specify the reference number length, or lengthen or shorten the existing reference number length.

Field	Description
Reference Number Length	Enter the desired reference number length, between 1 and 12 numbers. The current length of the reference number appears for reference. Before decreasing a number's length, ensure that duplicate reference numbers will not be created during the conversion. The conversion routine includes a validation check for this.
Add/Remove from Left/Right	To add or remove characters from a reference number, use this feature to determine whether the numbers are added to or removed from the left or right side of the number. For example, if you increase the reference number length from 5 to 7, use this feature to add those two numbers to the left of the number: 12345 becomes 0012345. Conversely, if you decrease the reference number length from 7 to 5, use this feature to remove those two numbers to the right of the number: 1234567 becomes 12345.
