Web Dashpart Security
To display another web site's content in GovWin Capture Management, GovWin Capture Management uses a special Internet Explorer browser control. Microsoft has implemented a security feature in Internet Explorer that prevents this special control from altering or changing the content of a Web dashpart.
This security precaution protects users from tricks and tactics used by unethical and aggressive web sites; it essentially prevents one web site from hacking another web site.
Because of this security feature, GovWin Capture Management Web dashparts have no control over the content of the hosted Website. GovWin Capture Management users with the authority to create Web dashparts should be aware of the implications of this security feature when creating new parts.
-
Pop-up ads — GovWin Capture Management cannot prevent browser-based pop-up windows from being displayed when a GovWin Capture Management Web dashpart loads or is refreshed. Pop-up blocking software is not recommended because it can affect GovWin Capture Management functions.
-
Web sites that "take over" the browser and load themselves in the currently opened Internet Explorer window — GovWin Capture Management cannot prevent web sites from taking over the currently opened GovWin Capture Management browser window. Web sites that can take over the GovWin Capture Management browser can throw the user out of GovWin Capture Management. If the user places one of these Web dashparts on his or her Dashboard, this can result in every log-on attempt kicking the user out of GovWin Capture Management.
The solution to this problem is to re-launch GovWin Capture Management without loading the startup application and then eliminate the dashpart that is causing the problem.
