Regulatory Enhancements

State

Alaska 2018 SUTA Electronic Filing

Alaska has published the Occupational Coding Manual for 2018. Since both occupational and geographic codes are required in the Alaska Quarterly Contribution Reporting, Deltek for Professional Services has been updated to reflect the changes for 2018.

Below is a summary of the changes made:

For more information, see http://live.laborstats.alaska.gov/erg/occmanual.pdf.

Florida 2018 SUTA Electronic Filing

An updated reemployment tax specification (Schema v2018 1.0) was released by the Florida Department of Revenue in March 2018. There are a few format changes to the XPath document.

These are the changes in the FL_RT_XML_Schemas_v2018_1.0 schema:

Previously, in the FL_RT_XML_Schemas_v2017_1.2b schema, all three XPaths used the first 35 characters. In the new schema, only the first 8 characters are used.

Missouri 2018 Tax Update

The standard deduction increases for all filing statuses, as follows:

Allowances have been removed from the withholding formula.

South Carolina 2018 SUTA Electronic Filing

Starting March 26, 2018, South Carolina employers are to use a new portal to electronically file unemployment tax and wage reports and pay unemployment taxes. The new portal, State Unemployment Insurance Tax System (SUITS), will replace the South Carolina Automated Tax System, which will no longer be available for unemployment tax and wage report filing starting March 18. Employers also will not be able to file such reports or pay unemployment taxes through South Carolina Business One Stop starting March 18.

Refer to the following links for more information on the EFW2 format for the new portal:

Some of the notable changes include the following:

The Q1 2018 filing due date is on April 30, 2018.

Enhancements

Employee Review in Human Resources

Hyperlink Added for Net Pay for Payroll Paments

The Net Pay field on the Payroll Payments tab in Employee Review (desktop application) now displays the net pay amount as a hyperlink. Click the link toopen the Payroll Remittance Advice report and view more details about the payment. From the report preview window, you can download, print, or email the report. The report does not display for voided payments.

QuickBooks Integration

Entering Firms in DPS

If you have QuickBooks Online integration enabled, you can now add firms directly in the DPS Firms hub. If you select Client in the Firm Type field for a firm, the firm is added as a customer in Sales » Customers in QuickBooks Online when updating occurs between the two products.

If you have the lead qualification feature enabled in DPS, you can also enter client-type firms when you qualify a lead in the Contacts hub. These firms are also added as customers in QuickBooks Online.

For more information, see the help topic: Customers and QuickBooks Online Integration.

Entering Contractors as Employees in DPS

If you have QuickBooks integration enabled, you can now add employees in DPS. These employees will not be added to QuickBooks Online when the updating occurs between the two products. Employees entered in DPS are typically used for contractors. You enter contractors as employees in DPS so that contractors can enter timesheets and expense reports in DPS, and those costs will be applied to project costing and billing invoices. The timesheet hours are not added to QuickBooks Online for payroll purposes. You can pay contractors for the expense reports that they enter in DPS with vendor invoices in QuickBooks Online. In order to pay contractors for expense reports this way, you must map a DPS contractor employee to the corresponding vendor for the contractor that was entered in QuickBooks Online and automatically added as a vendor-type firm in DPS.

For more information, see Contractors and QuickBooks integration.

Retry Attempts for Records and Transactions with a Status of Failed and Retry

A new Reset Counter button was added to the Scheduling Settings section on the Integration Setup tab in Utilities » Integrations » QuickBooks Integration. Click this button to reset the count of actual retry attempts to zero in the Retries field on the Error Logs tab in the QuickBooks integration utility for all records and transactions being updated between DPS and QuickBooks Online that currently have a Failed or Retry status. This allows all records and transactions that have reached the maximum retry limit to be processed again.

On the Error Logs tab in the QuickBooks integration utility, you can now edit the Retries field and the Status field in the grid.

For more information, see Integration Setup Tab of the QuickBooks Integration Form and Error Logs Tab of the QuickBooks Integration Form.

Screen Designer

Name and Number Fields in User-Defined Hubs

Currently, when you create a user-defined hub, you select Name or Number for the Display in Page Title setting. This setting is on the Create Hub dialog box and the Hub Preferences dialog box. It determines whether a hub record’s name or number displays at the top of the hub form to identify the record that you have open in the hub.

In DPS 1.1.9, the Display in Page Title setting also determines how the name and number display in the hub’s search results list:

You can delete a user-defined hub’s name or number field, but not both, from the hub. When you delete one of the fields, the remaining field is automatically selected for the Display in Page Title setting and you cannot change it.

Touch

Updated PHP Version

The Deltek CRM for Professional Services installer now installs PHP 7.2.3.

Touch >> Touch CRM

Ability to Add a Firm to QuickBooks Online

One of the main purposes of lead qualification is the ability to add a firm from a contact in Deltek CRM for Professional Services. As part of the QuickBook integration support, adding a firm in Deltek CRM for Professional Services now adds the same firm as a client or vendor to QuickBooks Online. Once the firm is available in QuickBooks Online, it becomes read-only in Deltek CRM for Professional Services. If you need to make any changes, you must edit it in QuickBooks Online.

Support for the New ComponentIDs of the Screen Designer

Deltek CRM for Professional Services has been updated to support the Screen Designer functionality for Contacts, Firms, Opportunities, and Activities. However, only those fields that have counterparts in Deltek CRM for Professional Services are supported.

Software Issues Resolved

Defect 916959: In Interactive Billing, labor or expenses items with the Status field set to Write-off were not removed as they should have been when an invoice was submitted or approved.

Hubs >> Contacts

Defect 917315: In the Contacts hub, when you made changes to any of the Firm Address fields for the contact's firm, the changes were not saved in the Contacts hub or the Firms hub, even though you received a message saying that the changes were saved.

Hubs >> List View

Defect 924439: In some cases, when you exported a selected group of hub records from List View, some rows in the downloaded .CSV file contained data from the wrong List View grid rows. For example, the address fields in a row in the file for Firm A might contain the address for Firm B.

Hubs >> Opportunities

Defect 916239: If you imported an opportunity from GovWin IQ and the information for the client contact did not include a mobile phone number, the Primary Client information in the Opportunities hub in DPS displayed Undefined in place of the contact's mobile phone number instead of leaving that field blank. In addition, Undefined also displayed in place of the email address for the contact, even if the imported data included a valid email address.

Hubs >> Projects

Defect 891422: Displaying List View in the Projects hub was very slow.

My Stuff >> Expense Report

Defect 924981: The currency for the Total Due amount on an expense report should have been the curency for the company that the expense report was created for, not the active company that you logged in to when you opened DPS.

Defect 915608: Some of the fields (Proposal Manager, Business Development Lead, and Marketing Coordinator) on the Opportunity List report did not display values even though the fields had values in the opportunity record.

Defect 918493: The Milestone Date on the Opportunity List report displayed the value of the Create Date field of the opportunity milestone record, when it should have displayed the value of the End Date field.

Defect 924685: When you searched for records to include on the Opportunity reports, the advanced lookup on the Opportunity Lookup dialog box (that opens from the Select field on the Opportunity Report Reports tab for a report) was missing Milestone Name and Milestone Date in the Search Field field.

Settings >> Workflow >> Approval Workflows

Defect 915861: When changes to the approval workflow settings that affected the approval requirements of approval steps were made in the DPS desktop application (for example, if changes were made to the Workflow State or Conditions field), then expense reports that were approved based on an approval workflow step with the Mark as Final Approved option in the Action If Condition Not Met field were reverted to the status of Submitted.

Utilities >> Advanced Utilities >> Talent Management Web Services

However, when you left the Imports form and then returned, the displayed date was incorrectly changed based on the date and time of the import in the Eastern time zone in the U.S.

Utilities >> Integrations >> API Authorization

Defect 924416: In the API Authorization utility, when you clicked Generate Secret, you were forced to return to the login screen and the secret was not generated.
