These release notes address all of the modules associated with DPS 1.1.7, some of which your firm may not use. Skip the sections that do not apply to your implementation of DPS.

Regulatory Enhancements

State

Kentucky 2018 SUTA Electronic Filing

Excess wages are now reported in the S record of Kentucky's ICESA (Interstate Conference of Employment Security Agencies) file format, on positions 78-91. Previously, positions 64-275 were all fillers. For more information, see https://kewes.ky.gov/Documents/ELECTRONIC_WAGE_AND_TAX_REPORTING.pdf.

Missouri 2018 Tax Update

Missouri has revised its income withholding formula for 2018. A zero percent tax bracket, which was introduced January 9 when the formula most recently was updated, was removed, and the lowest income tax bracket of 1.5% was adjusted accordingly to start at zero. No other changes were made to the formula.

Oregon 2018 Tax Update

The following are the updates for Oregon, effective February 1, 2018:

Enhancements

Internal Primary Key Field Added to Firms Import

If you are integrating Maconomy with DPS and you need to import firms into DPS, you can now import the internal primary key for the firm records if that is necessary to ensure that the integration works correctly. To do so, make sure your import file contains the correct primary keys, and map that field in your import file to the Internal Primary Key field in the Import Firms from CSV dialog box in Utilities > Imports & Exports in DPS.

Warning: The primary key field is an internal database field that is not visible in the Firms hub. You should only import into the primary key field if you understand the database structure and fully understand that importing into this field may impact the integrity of your database. You should back up your database before importing into this field.

The Internal Primary Key import field was added to support users with the specific data requirement described above. If that situation does not apply to you, do not import data into this field. To import the firm numbers or vendor numbers that are visible in the Firms hub, map them instead to the Firm Number field or Vendor Number field.

QuickBooks Integration

DPS can now be integrated with QuickBooks Online (QBO) if you already own QBO and you have the DPS Front Office Package. The Front Office Package includes the following DPS modules:

The integration allows you to use DPS as a project, planning, and CRM tool, while you track your financial transactions and general ledger in QBO. Certain data that you enter in either DPS or QBO is automatically shared and updated in the other product. For example, the timesheet hours that you enter in DPS are automatically added to QBO for processing payroll in QBO. The cash receipts for billing invoices that you enter in QBO are automatically added to DPS for project management purposes.

Revnue generation processing and billing transfers are not available in 1.1.7. They will be added in a future release.

For more information about installing and using the QuickBooks integration, see the online help topic QuickBooks Integration with DPS.

Support for International English

Previously, the DPS user interface was available only in U.S. English. This release adds support for international English as well. Terms used in DPS for which the spelling differs between the two types of English are displayed based on the type selected when you log in to DPS.

If a single type of English is appropriate for all locations in which your company uses DPS, that type is set as your only language as part of the licensing process. You do not need the Multilingual module. However, if your company has some locations that use international English and others that use U.S. English, you can purchase a DPS license that includes the Multilingual module. This allows each DPS user to select the type of English they prefer when they log in.

If you include the Multilingual module as part of your original DPS purchase, both types of English are automatically available when you start the product activation and setup processes. However, if you purchase the Multilingual module after you have begun using DPS, Deltek provides a password for that module. Enter that password on the Modules tab of the General System form (Settings > General > General System) to activate the module and make both types of English available.

Note: Deltek Touch for DPS does not yet support international English but will support it in a future version.

Utilities

Non-administrator users may need access to the process queue manager so they can monitor the jobs that were sent to the process server. These users should be able to view their own jobs but not have the ability to stop or re-start the process queue. To support this change, DPS has been updated so that only administrator user roles will have the ability to change the Queue Status action in the Process Queue Manager. Non-administrator user roles can only view the status.

Software Issues Resolved

Accounting >> Form 1099 Processing

Defect 886708: The state ID for Wisconsin was truncated on the printed 1099 form and was not included in the 1099 electronic file.

Activation

Defect 892503: You were unable to open a RevGen transaction file that was created in the current period if you had the following check boxes selected on the General tab in Settings > Accounting > Company in the desktop application:

Cash Management >> Credit Card Reconciliation

Defect 889795: When you reconciled a credit card statement, the posted credit card cash basis journal entry was incorrect. Some of the amounts in the journal entry were different from the amounts of the related credit card charges on the Credit Card Reconciliation form.

Hubs

Defect 874150: Even though autonumbering was configured, it did not generate an identification number when a record was created in a user-defined hub. You had to manually enter a number for the hub record.

Defect 892398: The Export All option in List view for a hub (Other Actions > Export All on the Actions bar) did not work correctly if more than 50 records were available to view. If the records displayed in the grid were in the first 50 records, only the first 50 records were exported. If you scrolled down to display records after the first 50, no records were exported.

Defect 862493: If you paid an expense report that had an advance applied to it and then you voided the payment, the Employee Ledger report incorrectly showed the full amount of the expense report to be paid instead of the reduced amount due to the applied advance.

Hubs >> Employees

Defect 884642: The labor category codes did not display in the Labor Category drop-down on the Employment Details tab in the Employees hub.

Defect 892701: This issue applies if you have multiple companies in DPS. When you associated an employee with a new company and the employee had transactions posted in the old company, you could select the Approved for Use in Processing check box only from the initial Add form. You also should have been able to select the check box later when you edited the employee record.

Human Resources

Defect 889545: When you ran the process to transfer new hires from Talent Management to DPS, DPS locked up.

My Stuff >> Calendar

Defect 887862:  When you applied repeat options for an activity on the Activity dialog box, the recurring activities did not display correctly on the Calendar in the My Stuff section. There were two different scenarios in which either some or all recurrences were omitted from Calendar:

My Stuff >> Expense Report

Defect 887090:  When an imported credit card record was added to an Expense Report, the Credit Card drop-down displayed the credit card's primary code instead of the secondary code.

My Stuff >> Timesheet

Defect 889625: This issue occurs if all of the following apply:

When the employee entered hours for the overhead project on a timesheet and saved it, an error message displayed that said the benefit hours exceeded the current balance, even though the hours entered were less than the available current balance for the overhead project.

Defect 894321: Employees who had their timesheet administration level set to Staff in the Employees hub, were able to see their timesheets only for open time periods. They should have been be able to see their timesheets for all time periods.

Screen Designer

Defect 892460: A hub took a long time to open if a user-defined field had been added to the hub, and the field was associated with a user-defined hub.

Settings

Defect 893720: In List view on the Accounts form in the browser application (Settings > Accounting > Chart of Accounts), you could delete the account that was mapped as the Unbilled Services account on the Accounting Company Settings form in the desktop application (Settings > Accounting > Company). DPS should not have allowed that deletion while the account was mapped.

Settings >> Opportunities

Defect 887710: If a labor category rate table included rates with effective dates, you could not select that rate table on the Service Estimate tab of the Opportunity Settings form (Settings > Opportunities).
