Enable QuickBooks Integration and Connect QuickBooks Online with DPS
To use QuickBooks Online with DPS, you enable the integration and connect QuickBooks Online with DPS.
Prerequisites:
You must have:
- Installed QuickBooks Online
- Created an Intuit Developer Account
- Created an Intuit App for DPS
- Completed the DPS activation
To enable QuickBooks integration and connect QuickBooks Online with DPS:
- In the Navigation pane in DPS, select You can access this utility when you log in to DPS with your setup credentials during the initial setup of DPS or when you log in to DPS without your setup credentials after the initial setup. .
- On the QuickBooks form, click the Integration Setup tab if it is not open.
- Select the Enable QuickBooks Integration check box.

Complete the information in the Connect your QuickBooks Instance section.
- In the Client ID and Client Secret fields, enter the client ID and the client secret from the Keys tab for the Intuit app that you created for DPS at the Intuit developers website.
- In the
Base URL field, enter the base URL to connect to QuickBooks Online:
- To connect to your product environment enter https:\\quickbooks.api.intuit.com.
- To connect to your test environment enter https:\\sandbox-quickbooks.api.intuit.com.
- In the
Discovery URL field, enter the default discovery URL for QuickBooks Online:
- For your product environment enter https:\\developer.api.intuit.com/.well-known/openid_configuration.
- For your test environment enter https:\\developer.api.intuit.com/.well-known/openid_sandbox_configuration.
- Click the Connect button.
- In the QuickBooks dialog box, select the QuickBooks Online company that you want to connect to.
- In the next QuickBooks dialog box, click Authorize. When you have connected successfully, you see Application is connected to QuickBooks Online below the Base URL field on the Integration Setup tab. It also displays the QuickBooks Online company name and realm ID for the company that you are connected to.
After you connect QuickBooks Online with DPS, you must complete the following steps before the two products are fully configured and ready to use together:
- Click the Initialize DPS button to copy records from QuickBooks Online to DPS for the first time.
- Review and map general ledger accounts and tax codes (if you use tax codes).
- Map vendor records to employee records.
- Set the frequency of automatic updating of records and transactions between DPS and QuickBooks Online.
- Select optional and advanced options.
