Explain a Timesheet Revision

You, or the person who approves your timesheet, may be required to enter explanations for timesheet revisions.

Revision explanations are required if your system administrator has enabled Require Revision Explanation in Settings > Time > Timesheet Audit. Depending on the configuration, you may be required to supply revision explanations when the timesheet is submitted or after making any updates earlier than the current date.

If you make a revision under circumstances that require an explanation, the Revision Explanation dialog box displays when you save or submit the revised timesheet. It lists the updates that you made on the timesheet.

To enter an explanation for a timesheet revision:

  1. Save or submit your timesheet.
  2. On the Revision Explanation dialog box, use the Standard Explanations drop-down list to select an explanation for the timesheet revision. Text for the explanation displays in the Explanation field.
  3. Click and use the Text Editor to enter additional details about the revision in the Explanation field.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.
To view the history of the revisions for a timesheet, click Show > Revision Audit. This revision information is also used on the Timesheet Audit Detail report, which is useful in the event of an audit.
