Print a Report from the Reports Tab or Archived Reports Tab (Desktop)

You can print reports from the Reports tab or the Archived Reports tab on the Reporting form. You can also print a report from the Preview window after you display the report. If you want to print batches of reports, you can schedule profiles to run at a later time.

To print a report from the Reports tab or the Archived Reports tab:

  1. On the Navigation pane in DPS Desktop, click Reporting, and click the type of report.
  2. Complete one of the following actions:
    Option Description
To print a standard report or a favorite report Select the report or favorite from the Reports grid on the Reports tab and then click Print on the toolbar.
To print an archived report Select the report from the Report Archives grid on the Archived Reports tab and then click Print on the toolbar.

The Print option is not visible in Reporting if you do not have security access to any printers. Ask your system administrator if you have questions.
  3. In the Print Name field on the Print dialog box, select the printer. The available printers are those configured on the DPS report processor and to which your security role has access. When you select a printer, DPS displays information about that printer in Model, Location, and Description.

To print on a printer that is not set up in DPS, select <local printer>. When you click Print, DPS generates and displays the report in portable document format (PDF). Use the print options in Adobe Acrobat to print the report using one of the printers you have defined in Microsoft Windows.

If you select <local printer>, you can specify the pages to print, and you can select Save reports to the application server when printing to store a file copy of the report, but the other options on the Print dialog box in DPS are not available. However, equivalent print options are available in Adobe Acrobat.

  4. Specify the pages to be printed:
    Option Description
Print All Prints all pages for the report.
Page Range Use hyphens to indicate page ranges (5-12). Use commas to separate individual pages or ranges (3,5,7-10).
  5. In the Number of copies field, specify how many copies you want to print.
  6. If you want to print more than one copy and your printer can collate, select Collate if you want the printer to collate the report pages.
  7. In the Size field in the Paper group box, specify the paper size.
  8. If your printer has multiple paper sources (paper trays), select a source in Source in the Paper group box.
  9. If your printer can scale reports, use Set Scale if you want a scale other than 100 percent.
  10. If your printer prints in color, select Use Color if you want to print the report in color.
  11. If you want to store a file copy of the report, select Export Reports as Files when Printing. If you want to print the report without saving it, skip to step 14.
  12. To save a copy of the report in a file, use the Save file as option to select a file format.
  13. If you want to save the report without printing it, select Export Only.
  14. Click Print to send the report to the printer. DPS also saves a copy of the report in a file if you selected Save reports to the application server when printing.

If you selected Save only, click Save to save a copy of the report in a file.
