Fee Basis The fee basis determines how DPS calculates the fee:
  • Lump sum: The fee is based on a lump sum amount. That amount is the contract fee.
  • Percent of construction: The fee is based on a percentage of construction costs. You provide the estimated construction cost and the percentage of that cost that you will bill. The contract fee is a percentage of the estimated total construction cost.
  • Unit based: The fee is based on a unit price. DPS calculates the total fee by multiplying a unit price amount by the number of units to bill. You provide the unit label (square feet, for example), the price per unit, and the quantity of units to bill.

If billing terms are set up at the project level, Fee Method for phases and tasks contains None.
