Implement the Follow Project Locale Method for Withholdings

You implement the Follow Project Locale method in the Employees hub.

Prerequisite: Before you specify employee withholdings, you must establish enterprise-wide withholding codes in Payroll Withholding Setup.

To use the project payroll tax locale to determine withholdings:

1. On the Navigation menu, click Hubs > Employees.
2. Open the employee record and click the Payroll tab of the Employees hub form.
3. In the Locale Method field, select Follow Project Locale.
4. In the Default Project Tax Locale field, select a default locale for the employee. When an employee charges time to a project that does not have a payroll tax locale defined in the Projects hub, or to a project whose tax locale is not set up as a withholding for the employee, this default locale is populated in the timesheet's Payroll Tax Locale field.

   The employee can override this default before posting the timesheet by selecting another locale from the timesheet's Payroll Tax Locale field. The locale must be established in Payroll Withholding Setup to be available as an option from this field.

5. Click Save.
