Activities Data in DPS
Activities data is shared by many hubs and applications in DPS. When you add, modify, or delete activity information from one place, your modifications are immediately available in the other hubs and applications.
The Activities Hub, Activities tab in other hubs, Calendar, and Dashboard applications share activity data. This means that when you add, modify, or delete activity information from any one of the hubs or applications, your modifications are immediately available in the other hub areas and applications. There is one exception to sharing activities: The Calendar displays only activities that have a type with a display of Calendar or Task. To view other types of activities, you must use the Activities Hub or Dashboard.
Activities and Calendar
The Activities Hub and Calendar application share a few types of activity data: events like phone calls and meetings, as well as tasks. To view other types of activities, you must use the Activity Manager, Activities Hub, or Dashboard. The Calendar application allows you to create, edit, delete, reschedule, or extend the duration of activities, as well as create a follow-up to an existing activity. Each time you create or modify an activity, DPS creates a hyperlink in the Activities hub or in the Activities tab of the hub record that is associated with the activity. Calendar also lets you view timesheets, other employees' calendars or share your own calendar with others.
Activities and the Dashboard
Use the My Activities dashpart in Dashboard to view a history of all your scheduled activities. The activities encompass meetings, reminders, deadlines, tasks, and alerts. My Activities dashpart contains dynamic content that is updated continually as changes to the activities are made in the Activities Hub or other hubs. From the My Activities dashpart, you can view and edit activity details, schedule new activities, and delete existing activities.
When you add, modify, or delete activity information in the My Activities dashpart on the Dashboard, your modifications are immediately available in the other hubs, including Client, Contacts, Employees, Leads, Marketing Campaigns, Opportunities, Projects, and Activities Hubs. For example, if an appointment is rescheduled in the Activities Hub or in the Activities tab of another hub, the information changes in the dashpart and vice versa.
