Record-level Security for Billing Groups

If your security role is configured to use record-level security, certain rules apply to billing groups.

The following applies if your role has Billing selected under Apply Project access to on the Record Access tab in Settings > Security > Roles in the desktop application:

  • You can access all projects to which your role has access rights.
  • If the Sub Projects in Billing Groups option is selected, DPS lets you add any project to which you have access as a sub-project in the billing group.
  • If the Sub Projects in Billing Groups option is not selected, DPS does not check your access rights when adding sub-projects.
  • When you attempt to select a main project or add a sub-project to which you lack access, DPS displays a message to indicate that the project does not exist.
