Workflow Scenarios

The workflow feature in DPS offers the capability to set up a wide range of workflow criteria and corresponding actions when the workflow conditions are met. In some instances, the corresponding action is to invoke a Web service.

In the following workflow scenarios, you would typically specify an action that invokes a Web service:

• You need to leverage processing logic that is beyond the scope of standard actions available in the application.
• You need to interact with data or applications outside of DPS.
• You need to leverage capabilities of different distributed applications, regardless of how they are built and where they are located.
• You need to invoke existing Web services offered by others vendors and applications.
