Disable Phases or Tasks

Use the Disable Phases/Tasks utility to disable tasks on a phase, or to disable phases on a project.

If a project is used in a Units by Project transaction file, running the disable phases/tasks key conversion for the project also updates its unit by project transaction file.

Prerequisite: Back up your DPS database.

To disable phases and tasks:

1. On the Application menu, click Utilities > Key Conversions > Disable Phases/Tasks.
2. On the Disable Phases/Tasks form, click Insert or Lookup/Insert to add rows to the grid:
   • If a project has tasks, you must run this utility for the tasks, then repeat these steps for the phases.
   • If a project has some phases with tasks and some without, you cannot mix them on the grid for the same processing run.
3. Complete the fields on the form.
4. Select one of the following actions:

   Option	Description
   To save the conversion to run later	Click Save.
   To run the conversion now	Click Run.
   To schedule the conversion to run on a regular basis via the process server	Click Schedule and complete the information on the Schedule dialog box.

   If you schedule the process to run later, you cannot disable phases until this process has completed and tasks have been disabled.
