Labor Adjustments and Employee Realization
You can use labor adjustment transaction files in conjunction with the Employee Realization feature.
Assigning Realization to Employees Who Did Not Work Additional Hours
You can use labor adjustments to give additional realization to employees when they have not worked additional hours for the realization. To do this, you enter a realization amount but no hours, cost, or billing amount on the Labor Adjustment form in the Transaction Center. You normally enter this labor adjustment with the Suppress Bill check box selected.
The realization amount from the labor adjustment displays on the Employee Labor Detail and the Time Analysis reports in the Realization Amount column after you post the labor adjustment.
The labor adjustment transaction is not processed when actual realization is allocated in Interactive Billing, Batch Billing, or Employee Realization because the record contains no hours, cost, or billable value.
Assigning Realization to Employees Who Worked Additional Hours
To give employees additional realization when they work additional hours for the realization, you enter a labor adjustment with realization, hours, cost, and billing amounts. You normally enter the same amount for the realization and billing amounts.
The Suppress Bill check box on the Labor Adjustments form affects whether the labor transaction is processed for actual realization allocation in Interactive Billing, Batch Billing, or Employee Realization.
- If you do not select the
Suppress Bill check box for the labor adjustment, the labor transaction is treated as a normal time record to be billed to the customer.
After you post the labor adjustment, the realization amount from the labor adjustment displays in the Realization Amount column on the Employee Labor Detail report and the Time Analysis report.
The labor adjustment transaction is processed when actual realization is allocated in Interactive Billing, Batch Billing, or Employee Realization because there are billable items. If you use the Employee Realization program to allocate realization, the record must be billed, and you must select the Include Labor Adjustments check box on the Employee Realization form for the labor adjustment to be included in the allocation.
