Organizations Import Notes

If you configured DPS for the variable organization structure, you can import your organizations.

Import Availability

This import is available if all of the following are true for your enterprise:

• Accounting is not activated.
• RP is activated either as the only module or with CRM or CRM Plus
• DPS is configured for a variable organization structure.

Iif you configured DPS for the fixed organization structure, you cannot import organizations. Instead, set up your organizations on the Organization tab of the General System Settings form (Settings > General > General Systen).

Required Fields

You establish your organization structure by importing the organization IDs for all levels of the structure, one import record for each ID. For example, if 10 is an organization ID at the top level of the structure and 10.01, 10.02, and 10.03 are organization IDs under 10 at the next level of the structure, you import a record for each of these organization IDs: 10, 10.01, 10.02, and 10.03. DPS determines the hierarchical relationships of the organizations based on the IDs.

To import organization records, each import record must contain an organization ID that is mapped to the DPS Organization field.

Record Validation

The import process checks the existing organization structure for a matching organization ID. If it finds no match, it adds the new ID to the structure. If it finds a match and you selected the Update duplicate records option, it updates the existing record based on the data in the import file record.
