Save Proposal as a Template

After creating a proposal, you can save it as a proposal template and reapply the format and structure to future proposals. This is useful when you have multiple proposals with similar criteria.

To save a proposal as a template:

  1. In the Navigation pane, go to the Proposals section and select Custom Proposals.
  2. Using the Search field at the top of the Proposal form, search for and select the proposal that you want to view or edit. The search list only includes records to which your security role gives you access. Click to the right of the field to display the list of records returned by the current search.
  3. Add elements to the proposal.
  4. Click Other Actions > Save Proposal as Template to save the proposal as a template.
  5. On the Save Proposal as Template dialog box, define the new proposal template's:
    • Name: Enter a unique name for the template.
    • Category: Select a category for the template. Use the categories to organize the templates by function. You can also search the templates by category. Your administrator defines proposal categories in List Settings.
    • Description : Enter a description for the template. For example, how it is used and for what types of proposals.
  6. Click Save to save the template. The template will be listed on the Proposal Templates grid in the Templates application. If the proposal that was saved as a template includes hub records, Vantagepoint saves the records as part of the template. Use the Manage Records dialog box to add or remove the necessary records from the template each time it is used to create a proposal.
