Web Dashpart Security
To display another web site's content in DPS, DPS uses a special Internet Explorer browser control. Microsoft has implemented a security feature in Internet Explorer that prevents this special control from altering or changing the content of a Web dashpart.
This applies to the dashboard that you access from the desktop application by clicking Dashboard in the toolbar on the main Deltek screen.
This security precaution protects users from tricks and tactics used by unethical and aggressive web sites; it essentially prevents one web site from hacking another web site.
Because of this security feature, DPS Web dashparts have no control over the content of the hosted website. DPS users with the authority to create Web dashparts should be aware of the implications of this security feature when creating new parts.

Pop-up ads: DPS cannot prevent browser-based pop-up windows from being displayed when a DPS Web dashpart loads or is refreshed. Pop-up blocking software is not recommended because it can affect DPS functions.

Web sites that "take over" the browser and load themselves in the currently opened Internet Explorer window: DPS cannot prevent web sites from taking over the currently opened DPS browser window. Web sites that can take over the DPS browser can throw you of DPS. If you place one of these Web dashparts on your Dashboard, it is possible that every log-on attempt will throw you out of DPS.
The solution to this problem is to re-launch DPS without loading the startup application and then eliminate the dashpart that is causing the problem.
