- Add an
Opportunity
Use the Opportunity form to add a new opportunity record that you want to track. When you create a new opportunity, DPS also creates an empty plan for that opportunity using default settings, so you can immediately begin entering a plan structure and planned labor hours. - Edit an
Opportunity
You can edit opportunity records if you have edit security access for DPS system records. - Close an
Opportunity
When you are no longer actively pursuing an opportunity, you can close it. Closing an opportunity does not delete it, but changes the opportunity status to inactive. - Create a New
Opportunity when Qualifying a
Contact
When a contact is interested and meets your enterprise's business criteria for qualification and a potential project, you can create a corresponding opportunity record. - Add a
Firm to an
Opportunity
You can add a firm to an opportunity. You can manage other firms including the owner (your client's client) and your vendors via the Team tab. - Add a Team Member to an
Opportunity
You can add team members to an opportunity from the Team tab. Team members include both your internal employees assigned to a project and external contacts with whom you will work on a project. Key team members associated with an opportunity are also visible on both the Summary pane and Overview tab. - Filter Milestones for an
Opportunity
You can filter milestones that are associated with an opportunity. - Add a Competitor to an
Opportunity
You can view and add competitors to an opportunity from the Competition tab. Competitors are other firms that are pursuing the opportunity. - Add
Proposal Information to an
Opportunity
Use the Proposals tab to manage proposal information related to an opportunity. The Proposals grid is where you view, add, or edit information about the proposal that you submitted. You cannot directly access or link to the proposals documents from this tab. - Add a
Project Code to a
Proposal for an
Opportunity
Use Proposals tab in the Opportunities Hub to add a project code to a proposal associated with an opportunity. - Create a Promotional
Project from an
Opportunity
You can create a promotional project directly from an opportunity. Typically, a promotional project tracks the time and expense for an opportunity before it becomes a project. This information helps the opportunity team understand the costs of pursuing an opportunity. - Create a Service Estimate for an
Opportunity
Use the Service Estimate tabs to enter the labor, expense, consultant, or unit cost estimates for an opportunity. This option is available if your firm purchased the CRM Plus application and the Enable Service Estimate option is selected on the Service Estimate tab in Settings > Opportunities. The tabs that display as part of Service Estimates depend on the settings that are specified on this tab as well. - Enter Dates for Estimated Revenue Allocation
The Estimated Revenue tab includes Allocation Method fields that allow you to specify the dates and time periods on which you expect to receive revenue. You can also specify an allocation template to apply as the basis when review the estimated revenue data on an Opportunity Forecast report. This provides an efficient method for analyzing the potential revenue stream for the opportunity. - Use a Template for Estimated Revenue Allocation
You can select a pre-defined template to use as the basis for the data on the Estimated Revenue Allocation grid, which allows you to calculate your company's desired revenue date, amount, and percentage. - Start a Kona Conversation
If you use Kona Business, you can create a Kona conversation for the current record. This allows you to collaborate with team members for greater communication and increased productivity.
