Submit a Timesheet

After you enter all data for a timesheet, you can submit the timesheet for approval and processing.

Your timesheet processing capabilities depend on how your system administrator defines settings. You may be allowed to submit a timesheet one time, or you may be allowed to edit a timesheet that you already submitted and then resubmit it.

To submit a timesheet:

  1. In the Navigation pane, go to the My Stuff section and select Timesheet.
  2. If the timesheet displayed is not the one that you want, use the search field to search for and select the one that you want to submit.
  3. Review the timesheet for accuracy and make any necessary changes.
  4. Click Actions > Submit.
  5. Click Submit.

Depending on the processing options selected by your system administrator, one or more of the following may occur:

    • If you are not allowed to resubmit a timesheet after it has been submitted, you receive a pop-up message asking for confirmation that you want to submit the timesheet. To continue, click Yes.
    • If Deltek has been configured to check entered hours against expected hours, you receive a warning or error if a discrepancy is found. If you receive a warning, click Yes to continue submitting your timesheet, or click No to revise and resubmit your timesheet. If you receive an error, you must review and revise your timesheet entries. If you receive an error when submitting it again, contact your system administrator.
    • If Check Project Planning for Planned Hours is enabled on the Time & Expense tab in the Projects hub in the desktop application, you receive a warning or error if a discrepancy is found in the hours submitted against the project. If you receive a warning, click Yes to continue submitting your timesheet, or click No to revise and resubmit your timesheet. If you receive an error, you must review and revise your timesheet entries. If you receive an error when submitting it again, contact your system administrator.
    • If Enable Revision Audit is set to Yes on the Timesheet Audit tab in Settings > Time is enabled and revision explanations are required, the Revision Audit dialog box displays. Enter a reason for the revision in Explanation or select a pre-defined revision explanation in Standard Explanations. The person responsible for making the change and the date and time of the revision are saved in the revision records associated with the timesheet in the database.
    • If electronic signatures (passwords) are required, the Confirm Electronic Signature dialog box displays. Enter your electronic signature in Password and click OK. Use the password that your system administrator assigned you in Security Configuration or, if you are using Windows Authentication, enter your Windows password.
